Crystal Palace and Patrick Vieira are optimistic for the club to sign Donny van de Beek on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season. It is understood talks have begun and Manchester United are only willing to let him go until the end of the season, with no option to make the deal permanent. The club want Van De Beek to be in the squad next season for a potential new manager and Ralf Rangnick does not want to sell the player.
Crystal Palace Optimistic for Donny Van De Beek Loan Deal
Desperate For Game Time
When Van De Beek came on as a substitute in his first game and scored a goal against Palace for United, fans expected him to be a regular starter for the team going forward. However, this was not meant to be and Van De Beek received an extremely limited amount of game time and that situation has not changed up until now. Under Rangnick, Van De Beek has continued to struggle for game time and this deal makes absolute for sense for the club and the player. If Van De Beek performs to a high standard at Palace, he will prove to his doubters he has qualities to play in the Premier League. It is said that in terms of physicality and pace, Van De Beek does not have the desired attributes for a Premier League player so it will be interesting to see how he does at Palace. United have made it clear in early negotiations that they want Van De Beek in the squad for next season, therefore there is no possibilities of a permanent deal. The club will benefit from him performing well as he will be returning at the end of the season. Louis Van Gaal has stated to Van De Beek he needs to be playing more if he wants to go to the Qatar World Cup with his national side and this is another reason why this deal is perfect for Van De Beek.
