Jesse Lingard is set to return to West Ham amid frustration over limited game time at Manchester United. Lingard enjoyed a 6 month loan spell at the Hammers last season and almost broke his way into the England squad for the Euros.

Lingard Set To Return To West Ham

False Promises

It is understood that Lingard received assurances from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer in relation to game time. However this has not been the case for Lingard as he has barely features. He did score the winning goal against West Ham in the league for United and some felt he may have been rewarded for his good performance but United fans have hardly seen him feature since. It is understandable for Lingard to be frustrated with the situation as he really impressed at West Ham and it was felt that he could be a real asset at Old Trafford. Lingard will also have high hopes to travel to Qatar at the end of the year with England and with Southgate omitting Lingard from the squad for the previous set of fixtures, there is a feeling Lingard will have to play regularly to have hopes of making it into the squad.

Frustrated With Rangnick?

It is understood several Manchester United players are unhappy with the current situation under interim manager Ralf Rangnick. There is a feeling the players are struggling to adapt to the new methods of the manager and are not happy with the assistant coaches he has brought in. Due to this, it is believed players are looking for exits and in Lingard’s situation, United are heavily stacked in the advanced positions he operates in and it does feel the best move for his career is to look for a move. West Ham will be the most favourable destination for him after his time there last season.
