Leicester City ‘One of a Kind’ Club

Leicester City continued to show why they are a one of a kind football club as owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha celebrated with the team on the pitch after their FA Cup win over Chelsea. A rarity in today’s game and owners across world football should take notice.

Khun Top is an outlier; the majority of owners only care about money while he’s about the love of the game, fans and players. No wonder Manchester United fans are protesting for their owners to be let go. The way Leicester is being run; is an example every team should strive for.

Leicester City Showing Success on and off the Pitch

Foxes Could Top Off Season With Top Four and FA Cup Trophy

Leicester City has been among the elite teams in the Premier League for the last five years. In 2016 the Foxes won the Premier League, surprising the whole world and were at point 5000/1 to win it. It was the best underdog story in the history of sports. After being threatened with relegation the season prior, the Foxes have not looked back and their management choices in Claudio Ranieri and Brendan Rodgers have been spot on.

Obviously, qualifying for the Champions League is a top priority for them but they are now able to mix it with the big boys and break that mould of a ‘big six.’ The best-case scenario is they win and Liverpool or Chelsea lose or draw Sunday.

That would guarantee Champions League next season.  In addition, they won their first FA Cup thanks to a phenomenal goal by Youri Tielemans. Also, with Kasper Schmeichel in goal Leicester City has the opportunity to win every game. Without a doubt, if Leicester City did not battle injuries this season the final matchday would not be so stressful if they make the Champions League or not.

Kelechi Iheanacho has been the Foxes breakout star. 19 goals this season and 11 goals in his last 11 games is absolutely sensational form. Excellent development by Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers after Manchester City moved on from him. They now have the ability to beat the best teams in the Premier League. By far their best win was a 5-2 victory over Manchester City and it was the first time Pep Guardiola‘s team conceded five goals during his tenure at Manchester City.

Family Culture at Leicester City Key

Srivaddhanaprabha is arguably the best owner in world football not because of how much money he has but how much he cares about his club and fans. Clearly, his collectivist background is one of the reasons he’s so generous to the fans and loves the players. He gave gifts to all the season ticket holders who could not make the FA Cup. The way he embraced and celebrated with his team on the pitch after the FA Cup win was special.

The embracing of each player and member of staff was impactful. To join in with the lifting of the trophy while jumping up and down in celebration with all the players as the confetti erupted.

Micah Richard summed it perfectly on BT Sport: “I don’t think you’ll see another owner come on the pitch and be loved as this man has,” said.

Khun Top is a one of a kind owner and his generosity has seemed to reach another owner Sheikh Mansour who decided to pay for all the flights for the Manchester City fans attending the Champions League Final. Mansour has been known for his generosity during his time with Manchester City. Two of the best owners in the Premier League. Hopefully, more owners follow their example.
