Manchester City Open To Make More Transfers

Pep Guardiola has revealed Manchester City are open to making more signings before the end of the transfer window.

The Spanish tactician has bolstered his side with a number of new signings, including red-hot Jack Grealish, who opened his scoring account in City’s 5-0 demolition of Norwich City on Saturday at Etihad Stadium.

The 25-year-old forward joined the Citizens for a fee believed to be around £100 million from Aston Villa, where he spent nine years before his departure.

Manchester City Not Closing Door on Further Recruitments

Besides the versatile winger, City have also recruited Brazilian youngster Kayky from Fluminense and goalkeeper Scott Carson from Derby County.

With about eight days left before the end of the transfer window, Guardiola has revealed Manchester City could further strengthen the team by recruiting more players, notwithstanding his satisfaction with the current players at his disposal.

“When we decided not to extend the contract of Sergio Aguero and people asked what we would do, I said many times it would depend on the market,” Guardiola told the club website.

“Maybe we will buy, maybe not. It is still the same situation. There are still 10, 11 days (left) in the transfer market. We are going to see what happens and it depends on that when we are going to take a decision.

“If the squad stays the same one then I am more than pleased with the team. I know them really well. They know me really well.

“We put incredible energy in this week to compete with the good teams in England and the good teams in Europe. We want to be there.

“The group of people are fantastic. The players are incredible quality. I will never complain. I have never complained since day one and I will not do it now.

“But, of course, the club has an obligation and a duty to look forward to get better and to feel we can still be in there with a tough Premier League. This is what we are going to do.”

Manchester City have won three Premier League trophies, one FA Cup, four League Cups and two Community Shields under the guidance of Guardiola.

City will be rooting to clinch more trophies under the guidance of the Spanish tactician before the end of the 2021/22 season.
