The mentality and ambition of Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be questioned after his telling interview with Sky Sports. It is clear for fans to see that his hard-work and determination alongside his phenomenal talent have got him where he is now.

Mentality and Ambition Of Cristiano Ronaldo Cannot Be Questioned

High Standards

We have seen a banner at Old Trafford this season a couple of times with the displayed message  ‘Standards’. Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Bryan Robson are included in the banner. It really is a damning message to this set of players and it is the supporters telling them how far the standards have dropped at this prestigious club. Ronaldo played with Keane in his first spell at Manchester United and as a young lad, he stated that he listened to the experienced players around him and tried to improve his game. Many have described his first spell at Old Trafford as an ‘apprenticeship’. This is due to the invaluable learning experience Ronaldo underwent at the club. The youngsters at United need to instil this mentality into them if they have ambitions to be successful at this club. Ronaldo has not let them standards slip since he has returned to the club and he cannot be blamed for the wrongdoings at the minute. Ronaldo has single-handedly put United into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Youngsters Not Listening To Advice?

Ronaldo stated the new generation has changed and sometimes they do not welcome advice. Whilst he persisted he was talking about youngsters in general and not the lads at United, it certainly raised a lot of eyebrows. These youngsters at the club should be grateful they are playing at such a club and the fact they are playing alongside one of the all-time greats in Cristiano Ronaldo. Ralf Ragnick also has some thinking to do as he must adapt his play style in such a way that he can get the best out of Ronaldo. Only then, is there a chance of success for him and United this season.
