Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is prepared for a potential exit after having fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel. With many clubs interested, it is reported that AS Roma is leading the race to his signature.

Out of Favour Chelsea Striker Leaves for Serie A
Having progressed through the youth process of Chelsea, Tammy got his first-team call up in 2016. Soon after that, he was sent out on various loan spells in which he excelled radiantly. His performance with Bristol City was where he gained attention.
It was so good that he won the Bristol City’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards in a season, also making him the only player to do so in the club’s history. Earlier that season, he had broken the previous record for the most goals scored by a teenager.
Abraham delivered a similar performance with Aston Villa in the 2018-19 season which helped the club get promoted to the Premier League. He was the second-highest goalscorer in the league and also earned a spot in the PFA Team of the Year.
Roma To Replace Edin Dzeko With Chelsea Striker
After producing club saving performances, he was kept by the club for the 2019-20 season. And with the former Blues as manager, Abraham had all the backing required to succeed. Frank Lampard preferred him as the natural striker and he delivered exactly from where he had left off. With 18 goals in his first full season, he played a major role in the club finishing fourth in the Premier League that season.
He remained to be an immovable member of the team and featured in almost every match. The following season was the same and he was enjoying his life under Lampard. However, after a string of disappointing displays by the team, the manager was sacked. This proved to be a turning point for the 23-year-old Englishman.
Thomas Tuchel was the replacement Chelsea had found. He had hardly settled in with the squad that we could see Abraham falling down the pecking order. Things got even worse and the final part of the season saw him not even make it to the bench. There was a time when it was found shocking even by his teammates.
Tammy Abraham Has No Future at Chelsea
With Oliver Giroud leaving the club, a slight ray of hope had shone on the player. Timo Werner would be preferred as the main striker, so Abraham could now at least compete for that spot. However, that hope can be confirmed as shattered as Chelsea have finalised a record-breaking deal for Romelu Lukaku.
His arrival means Tammy can pack his bags as he will now be a third choice striker. And for a player with huge potential and time in his hand if it gets wasted. His availability had attracted the likes of Arsenal and Atalanta. Although no official bids were made, Chelsea is not interested in selling him to a rival club, which rules out Arsenal’s chances.
After AS Roma appointed Jose Mourinho as their new coach, many changes have been taking place there. They have made some interesting signings so far and bringing in a talented striker looks appealing to them. According to Sky Sports, Roma is the frontrunner for his signature and a deal is said to have been struck between the clubs which would see the forward move to Italy for a fee of £34 million.
