The Next Zlatan Ibrahimović – Tottenham Swoop to Sign Juventus Starlet

Antonio Conte is clearly looking to create a respectable Tottenham Hotspur side that possess both attacking prowess and defensive stability, and has turned to a few specific names this window that has pricked the ears of Spurs fans. However losing out on Adama Traore to Barcelona and with the Luis Diaz deal to Liverpool looking imminent, the North London club have been forced to look elsewhere in the market. The next name on the list is 21 year old, Dejan Kulusevski – deemed the next Ibrahimović. Will this Tottenham swoop pay off?

The Next Ibrahimović? Tottenham Swoop for Juventus Star

Prolific

Prolific, attacking, Swedish. These are just core similarities between Juventus superstar Kulusevski and the world famous Zlatan Ibrahimović, yet there are many more traits the two share that make their playstyles very unique in the modern game. Both standing over 6ft tall with an dominant aerial threat allow the two to compete with Europe’s toughest defenders, but quick feet and touch-tight dribbling brings a whole new dynamic to their game.

With Juventus confirming the signing of Dusan Vlahovic earlier this week, adding to an already talented pool of attackers, a move away from Italy may allow us to see the true potential of the young Swede.

Contrary to previous years, Kulusevski has struggled to find form this season, only recording 1 goal and 3 assists in 20 league appearances (as per TransferMarkt). If Antonio Conte can bring the best out of the 20 year old, this certainly won’t be the case for his time in the Premier League.

In a loan to buy deal, Spurs are looking to offer 40 million euros and this will become a mandatory fee if they qualify for the Champions League, or hits the required number of appearances.

Also joining from Juventus is 24 year old Uruguayan Rodrigo Bentancur, a like for like replacement for Giovani Lo Celso who has signed for Villareal earlier today.
