The January Transfer Window is now open and Inter Milan  will be planning to strengthen their squad to mount a serious challenge on rivals AC Milan for the Scudetto trophy.

Squad depth may well be tested in the following weeks and Inter is short of it in many departments. Here are three players Inter Milan can sign in the January transfer window.

Inter Milan January Transfer Window Wishlist

Alejandro ‘Papa’ Gomez

Inter’s CEO stated that Alejandro Gomez is a player any side would love to have and the recent comments confirm the club’s interest in him. The Argentine’s days at Atalanta are numbered following a spat with club’s manager Gian Piero Gasperini. It has seen Gasperini leave Gomez out of the last two matchday squads. The 32-year-old is well-tuned to the Italian League and has earned praises from the likes of Jurgen Klopp. Antonio Conte would be interested in bringing him to the San Siro to strengthen their journey to the Serie A title. Inter will have to act fast to secure his services considering the likes of Juventus and Milan will also be closely following Gomez’s situation.

Leandro Paredes

Inter Milan have been constantly linked with Leandro Paredes and now may be the right time to make a move for the Paris Saint Germain midfielder. It has been reported recently that Inter wants to sign Paredes in a deal that sees Christian Eriksen go to the Parc des Princes. Eriksen has endured a difficult time in Italy and sacrificing him for Paredes would be the best solution for both the club and the player. Paredes is a magnificent passer of the ball and has a brilliant vision. He is certainly one of the three players Inter Milan can sign in the January transfer window. These are the qualities Antonio Conte would like to have at his disposal going further into the season, not to mention an extra option in the midfield department for the Nerazzuri.

Robin Gosens

In the summer transfer window, Inter took a huge step in strengthening its wingback position by signing Achraf Hakimi. However, the left wingback position still needs reinforcements with an ageing Ashley Young acquiring that spot. Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens would be a suitable option for the Italian side, having good attacking prowess and reliable defensive abilities. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the 18-times Serie A champions for some time and rightly so considering his experience in Italy, his age and his suitability to a position that Inter lacks options in. Antonio Conte’s team requires the wingback position to be one of the most important ones and having prolific players in that position will help the team in their journey to the Scudetto.
