Arsenal are having a very good time in the ongoing transfer window. The Gunners, who finished second in the Premier League for the third successive season in 2024/25, are going through a trophy-less spell that has lasted six years.
Mikel Arteta, however, has finally managed to sign a striker in the form of Viktor Gyokeres, which should go a long way towards solving the problems his team has been facing for quite some time now.
Still, with the potential signing of Eberechi Eze looming large, Arsenal are probably going to have one of their best transfer windows in recent times.
Why Eberechi Eze Could Shake Up Arsenal’s Wide and Creative Roles
The Gunners already have Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri in their team, each of whom can play on the flanks.
Eze is primarily a left-winger and should provide the Gunners with another option in wide areas.
However, as the Crystal Palace has demonstrated, he can also play as the No. 10 and could be used as a backup to Martin Odegaard as well. However, if Odegaard is fit, he will always start for the Gunners unless there is a serious dip in his form.
Therefore, Eze, should he sign for Arsenal, might have to switch between playing as a No. 10 as a substitute to playing as the first-choice left-winger.
He will have to keep performing at a high level, as Gabriel Martinelli has been quite consistent on the left flank and will fancy his chances of featuring in the starting line-up.
However, Eze, with his 39 goals and almost 30 assists in 166 matches for Crystal Palace, has been a better player than the Brazilian in the recent past.

Eze, Like Isak, Faces Big-Club Ambition Amid Uncertain Rewards
Just like Isak at Newcastle, Eze tasted the success of winning silverware last season when Crystal Palace won the FA Cup.
The likes of Palace and Newcastle do not win trophies every season and therefore, their players are not usually very suited to tasting such success.
Just as Isak must be harbouring some ambition to grow as a player, Eze should also look to make a switch to a bigger club, which seems to be Arsenal at the moment.
However, he must also know that the Gunners have not won a major trophy in the last six years. Therefore, playing for the North Londoners does not guarantee success in any way.
Just as Isak is in a topsy-turvy situation at Newcastle, Eze should also find himself amid some sort of turmoil at the moment. The bid for Eze should be in excess of £60 million, but it remains to be seen whether Palace budge in front of that.
Eze’s contract with Palace runs until 2027, which means that the club will be able to earn some revenue even if they decide to part with the English winger next season.
However, even if Eze comes to Arsenal this summer, he will have to fight really hard to make himself an intrinsic part of the starting XI at the Emirates.
