Kylian Mbappe’s Goals for France Keep Dazzling in World Football

Kylian Mbappe is only 26 at the moment. It seems a bit surprising, because he has already won the World Cup and finished runner-up on another occasion, besides racking up 91 international appearances for the French national team.

Mbappe scored once again versus Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, September 5, as France won the match 2-0. It was his 51st goal for his country, adding to the ever-growing tally of Kylian Mbappe’s goals for France that now puts him level with Thierry Henry.

However, Henry played in 32 more international matches than Mbappe, which means that the Real Madrid forward is scoring at an admirable frequency for his national side.

Kylian Mbappe’s Goals for France Put Him Among All-Time Greats

France have Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani as their strikers. However, Mbappe, who can play as a left-winger, is more versatile than either of them.

Mbappe plays as a centre-forward for his club and has scored 47 goals in 62 matches for Los Blancos. Not to mention that he had scored heaps of goals for Paris Saint-Germain, his former club, before moving to Real Madrid.

His goal-scoring numbers are so good that one tends to forget at times that other aspects of his game are impressive as well. Mbappe already has well over 300 goals in his senior club career, and it seems a bit scary that he might still have a decade of top-flight football left in him.

There is another goal-scorer of great quality in Erling Haaland in world football at the moment, who has 282 goals in 349 matches in his club career. Haaland and Mbappe’s goal-scoring rates are quite comparable, but the former does not have the luxury of playing for a top national side like France.

Norway often finds it difficult to qualify for major tournaments, meaning that Haaland is not able to make his mark on the global stage in international football. Still, Haaland has scored 43 goals in 44 international matches, which is an unreal record and better than Mbappe’s.

Kylian Mbappe Will Be His Team’s Greatest Weapon in the Next World Cup

France are almost certain to qualify for the next World Cup in US, Mexico and Canada.

Les Bleus have reached the final in each of the last two editions of the tournament, with Kylian Mbappe’s goals for France already at 12 in just 14 appearances. Only Miroslav Klose, Ronaldo Nazario, Gerd Muller, Just Fontaine and Lionel Messi are ahead of him in this regard.

The Frenchman will be eyeing Miroslav Klose’s record of 16 goals in the tournament that he can exceed in the next World Cup. Mbappe has the potential to become one of the most successful footballers in international football ever, even keeping the almost impossibly good records of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in mind.

If Mbappe manages to have the longevity that the above two have enjoyed as footballers, he could very well go on to come close to their records.

At the moment, football-lovers all over the world should enjoy this wonderful player at the peak of his powers. He is already in the upper echelon of the footballers his nation has produced.
