Bayern Munich have started this season with a statement of intent of historical proportions. Four wins out of four and a remarkable 18:3 goals in the Bundesliga, along with wins in the German Super Cup, the domestic DFB Cup, and most importantly, the Champions League.
Meanwhile, England captain Harry Kane’s form has been a major factor in that.
Harry Kane’s Form Dizzying Statistics
The Bayern number nine already leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with eight goals, while three of his closest competitors there “only” have four strikes each.
Kane also struck twice each, in Bayern’s First-Round 3-2 victory of the DFB Cup against Wehen Wiesbaden, as well as the impressive 3-1 win over FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea, along with having netted once in the 2-1 win over VfB Stuttgart in the Super Cup, to open the season.
Meanwhile, the start of the Bundesliga season has been the best not only for Bayern Munich, but also for any team in league history, after four rounds of play. Harry Kane’s form was vital to that end.
Kane has begun his third season with Bayern even more explosively than the first two. His UCL brace against Chelsea means that no one has scored more Champions League goals than himself since his 2023 Bayern move, having netted 21 times in 25 games.
Beyond that, the Bayern number nine has scored 98 competitive goals for the Bavarians in 103 matches. (Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland each needed 105 games to score their first hundred goals for a club.)
Another remarkable fact is that Kane has scored 70 Bundesliga goals in 67 matches in the German top flight.
A Team Player
Bayern Munich’s number nine has never seen himself as a one-man show, however. Instead, he always humbly puts his team first, while never failing to thank his teammates for always putting him in the best scoring positions.
So far this season, we have discussed Bayern Munich’s problems and potential weaknesses extensively. However, they have started the season phenomenally. Coach Vincent Kompany has found a way for his players to truly buy into his way of doing things.
Not only Harry Kane’s form, but also his humility and his tendency to let his performances do the talking for him have shown everyone else the way to go. As long as this core of players stays healthy, the sky is the limit for Bayern this season.

More Than a Number Nine
Bayern Munich’s number nine is not a typical striker who simply stays in the opposition penalty area, waiting for the ball to come to him, so he can score and take all the glory. He does a lot of the “dirty work” of leading the attack, organising it, and even helping out defensively whenever needed.
That is why, no matter how many dizzying statistics about his goal-scoring we bring up, they never come close to showing the full worth that Kane has for Bayern Munich. He is an exemplary player, teammate, and person who consistently goes above and beyond to achieve his goals.
No matter what the future holds for this world-class player, who often does not get the credit he truly deserves, beyond this season, he will go down in history as one of the greatest strikers in Bayern Munich’s history.
Lastly, Harry Kane’s form may be temporary, but his class is permanent.
