The Adrien Rabiot form is crucial for France at the World Cup 2026. Rabiot was one of two holding midfielders who started for France in the match against Senegal.

The Senegal vs France match ended 3-1 in favour of the Frenchmen, taking them to the top of Group I. Kylian Mbappe scored twice and Barcola another goal, but it was the Adrien Rabiot form that must have kept Didier Deschamps happy.

Why Adrien Rabiot Form Is Important for France

Rabiot registered an assist for France’s second goal, scored by Bradley Barcola. The 31-year-old midfielder played a perfect through pass to Barcola for the latter to score.

The Senegal vs France game was Rabiot’s 60th cap for his country, and he has scored seven goals in them. Having made his debut in 2016, Rabiot featured in the World Cup 2018 squad that won the title as well as the World Cup 2022 one, which finished runners-up.

France have an unmatched attack stacked with world-class players, but the job of linking the defence and attack lies with Rabiot only. Rabiot starts with Aurelien Tchouameni in the double-pivot, and the latter is too much of a defensive player to make any impact offensively.

Therefore, Rabiot should keep playing those crucial forward passes to help his team’s attack. The AC Milan midfielder has been in quite a decent form for his club as well.

Adrien Rabiot Form Has Been Good for AC Milan Too

The Adrien Rabiot form has been quite decent for AC Milan. He has scored six goals and registered four assists in 32 matches for them this season. Rabiot’s ability to help the attack has been highlighted while playing for AC Milan as well.

Rabiot has played for clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Monaco in the past as well. He has played in more than 500 club matches in his professional career, which makes him one of the more experienced players in his playing position.

Rabiot is a quality passer of the ball and has the ability to play quality through balls, as demonstrated in the match against Senegal. He also has the ability to take shots at the opposition’s goal at times and is a good header of the ball as well.

Rabiot’s Rich Experience

Aside from N’Golo Kante, Kylian Mbappe and Dayot Upamecano, there is hardly another player who is as experienced as  Rabiot in the French squad.

Hence, Deschamps will rely a lot on Rabiot to provide the solidity and assurance to his team’s midfield. Another important job for him will be to link the attack with the defence, which he has been doing for quite some time now.

Among the more fancied superstars, Rabiot might go under the radar, as far as the French team is considered. However, his job is every bit as important as theirs. For Deschamps, the Adrien Rabiot form will be very important.

Rabiot will be 35 by the time the next World Cup comes around. Therefore, this might be his last chance to excel on the world stage. It remains to be seen whether he can make it count.
