It’s no secret Liverpool FC had an extremely off-season during the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign.

It was a season that saw the sacking of Premier League-winning manager Arne Slot, the resignation of Liverpool’s CEO Edwards, Alexander Isak’s failure to meet club expectations, and the emotional departure of Mohammed Salah.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement is now on the verge of arriving.

Names on the Shortlist for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah Replacement and Features They Must Possess

Any player making their way into Liverpool to replace Salah must have pace, dribbling technique, precision, and accuracy.

Perhaps little wonder that Pedro Neto is on a roll to replace the Egyptian king. The English club are eyeing making the Portuguese a long-term replacement for the Egyptian winger.

Liverpool also have Bradley Barcola on their shortlist, as the French forward fails to be getting enough minutes in the PSG team.

On the other hand, TeamTalk reveals Rayan is also on the roll as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement, given that the Brazilian is Premier League-tested and made a huge impact in the Bournemouth team last season.

In fact, it is reported that Andoni Iraola is pushing for the forward to join the Merseyside club, given that the coach understands his gameplay. To this end, club officials are weighing up the option of getting him to play for Liverpool.

Another surprise move could be Lamine Yamal. Initially, the plan was to sign Karim Adeyemi. However, the ex-Dortmund player has now signed for Barcelona, as a club statement confirms, and this could tilt Liverpool towards making a shock move for Lamine Yamal.

Andoni Iraola is fond of the Spanish gem, as he predicts he could be a future Ballon d’Or winner. It is, however, doubtful whether Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement can materialise.

Andoni Iraola Will Have To Do Without Mohammed Salah

When asked about Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement, Iraola had this to say:

“I think it [replacing Salah] is one of the challenges when I arrived. The fact is that we cannot expect to sign a forward that will replace Mohamed Salah. Doing that will make the new signing fail.”

The Merseyside coach further added:

“Of course, we need someone to play in his (Salah’s) position but with a different skillset. Such a player must be himself, and must be able to blend himself into the dynamics of the team. Certainly, we are working towards getting a player.”

To this effect, it was even suggested that Frimpong switch his role from right back to a right winger. The club want him to play in an attacking role for the majority of next season.

Nevertheless, it appears that getting Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement is proving difficult. He isn’t just referred to as the “Egyptian King” for no reason. Salah has netted 245 goals and given 119 assists in nine years stint at Liverpool, after making 435 appearances for the club.

It is hoped Liverpool find an even better replacement for next season’s Premier League campaign.
