The current Yan Diomande form is a positive for Real Madrid. Diomande scored in Real’s 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in the third round of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21.

The Yan Diomande form has been really impressive of late for Real Madrid, and he is now justifying his huge price tag as a player.

Will Yan Diomande Form Earn Him a Place in Real’s Starting XI Against Barcelona?

The Yan Diomande form might be able to earn him a place in Real Madrid’s starting XI against Barcelona in the El Clasico on Sunday, October 25. Diomande has scored three goals and has registered three assists in 12 matches for Real this season so far.

The brilliant goal he scored against Leipzig with an outrageous volley shows the kind of player he is. The 19-year-old winger should get a chance against Barca as Vinicius Junior is serving a four-match ban in La Liga at the moment.

Arda Guler should continue to play on the right flank and in Vinicius’ absence, Diomande should play on the left side of the pitch. Real Madrid can also think of playing Guler on the left and Brahim Diaz on the right, but that is unlikely to be the case.

The Yan Diomande form should have done enough to earn him a place in the starting XI against Barcelona. Diomande should relish the prospect of running into empty spaces past the high defensive line of Barcelona on Sunday. His speed should be a great weapon to have for Real Madrid in the El Clasico.

Aside from Vinicius, the other big stars are playing well for Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe is among the goalscorers, and Jude Bellingham is doing his bit as well. Bellingham showed his versatility as a player by playing a wonderful cross that led to Guler’s goal against Leipzig.

Mbappe cannot stop scoring goals at the moment and already has 12 goals in 12 matches this season. Real need somebody to step up as the left-winger, as Vinicius’ form leaves a lot to be desired.

Extra Time Notes

All things considered, the Yan Diomande form should come in handy for Los Blancos. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger scored 13 goals last season for Leipzig and showed his ability as an attacking player. There is no reason why he cannot exceed that number this season.

Guler is a player with more finesse than Diomande, and the Ivory Coast winger offers a nice contrast as a player. His ability to burst through the flanks should come in handy against Barca and should give Real that extra bit of explosiveness.

Barcelona are a great attacking side, and Real will have to defend deep for an extended period of time against them. The Yan Diomande form should allow Los Blancos to have a player in the side capable of making those darting runs into the final third.

Vinicius would have been able to do the same for Real as well. In the Brazilian’s absence, it will be up to Diomande to take the attack to Barca and thereby help Real Madrid reduce the gap between the two sides in the league table.
