The Amad Diallo form has been a worrying part of Manchester United’s poor start to the 2026/27 season, with the Ivory Coast winger not being able to make a big impact for them so far. Amad hasn’t really done much to lower the pressure on Michael Carrick’s future as the Red Devils’ head coach, and the Amad Diallo form is nowhere near what the club would hope for.
The poor Amad Diallo form has seen the winger fail to score a single goal in the first few months of the new campaign for Manchester United. He’s only managed one assist in seven appearances, which itself indicates how dismal the Amad Diallo form has been.
The 24-year-old winger actually had a pretty good 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he even scored two goals for his side – including the winning goal in their win over Ecuador. With Shea Lacey’s emergence and brilliant performance in Manchester United’s recent win over AS Roma threatening Amad’s position in the Red Devils’ attack, the Amad Diallo form needs to improve for him to get regular playing time at Old Trafford.
What Has Caused the Poor Amad Diallo Form at Manchester United?
The Amad Diallo form has collided with the Red Devils own poor run in the start of the campaign, even coinciding with their nine-game winless run that they broke with the win over AS Roma. However, the Ivorian himself also didn’t do all that much to help improve his side’s form and was himself pretty underwhelming in key moments in multiple games for the Red Devils.
Amad put in reasonably good performances for Manchester United in their losses to Como and Chelsea recently, as well as doing well in the 1-1 draw against Leeds United. He tends to make admirable sprints into the danger zones, but Amad’s work in the final third has been pretty woeful.
The Amad Diallo form is poor, with the 24-year-old losing his composure in important areas in the final third, failing to create big chances as his crosses or passes often tend to evade a teammate. Even his shooting hasn’t been all that prolific, with Diallo only managing three shots on target in four Premier League appearances this season and not being decisive enough in finishing off his chances at all.

How Can Amad Improve His Form?
The Amad Diallo form needs to improve for the 24-year-old to maintain his place on the right-wing position for Man United.
The Ivorian winger is getting into the danger zones pretty frequently for the Red Devils, while his acceleration and speed make him ideal for the counter-attacks as well. It’s just a case of Amad needing to be more relaxed in how he approaches things when in and around the penalty area.
He shouldn’t look to rush passes into the central areas, as doing that often ends up in misplaced passes or his crosses being too quick for teammates to hold onto. The Ivorian needs to time his passes better and be patient in knowing when to release the ball with better timing.
Amad also has to improve his efficiency in finishing off chances, being more controlled when having the goal in front of him. Doing so can enable him to start getting more regular goal involvements and raise his importance in the Manchester United attack.
Extra Time Notes
The Amad Diallo form has been one of the reasons why the Manchester United attack has struggled to produce fireworks in the 2026/27 season so far. Despite featuring in seven games, his zero goals is a poor reflection and does not enable the Red Devils to be able to score more goals.
For Amad to improve his form, he needs to start taking less pressure on himself in the key attacking areas. Patience is the need of the hour for the 24-year-old to be able to nail more accurate passes that allow him to create big chances, and Diallo also needs to work on adding more ruthlessness to his finishing to aid his attack.
