Brighton vs Manchester United Match Preview
Manchester United heads to Brighton to end their Premier League season. The two sides have taken a step backwards from last season, and will look to come back stronger for 2024/25.

Brighton failed to replicate last season’s results, but one can always count on them to produce a great watch. Roberto De Zerbi’s side is one of the most innovative and attractive teams in the Premier League. However, unfortunately for them, they face the last game of the season with nothing to play for. It is hard to judge a team that plays with no target, but the ending in their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea left no doubts over the team’s attitude and character.
Manchester United’s 2023/24 season has been one of their worst in recent history. After an optimistic ending last season with the EFL Cup trophy and a top four finish, it was a stark contrast this term. On road to being the worst Premier League campaign in the club’s history along with a fourth place in the Champions League group stage, the FA Cup final gives them one last chance to end on a positive.
Regardless of their 3-2 win against Newcastle, Manchester United can no longer finish inside the top six due to Chelsea’s win against Brighton on Wednesday. They trail the Blues by three points, but their goal difference advantage is vastly inferior at this stage. However, United can still grab seventh at Newcastle’s expense. The two are level on points, though, as is the case with Chelsea, United is at a disadvantage due to goal difference.
Finishing in seventh place in the Premier League would guarantee European football for the Red Devils next season. If they manage to win the FA Cup final against Manchester City, they would qualify to the Europa League. However, if they can secure seventh place and lose the FA Cup final, they would inherit the Conference League spot since Manchester City is already qualified for the Champions League, freeing up another European spot.

Brighton vs Manchester United Prediction
Draw at 4.00
Should United fail to win, they could live to regret it, but the fight for seventh is not quite as appealing as an FA Cup final. It is always one game at a time, but with the opportunity to beat rivals Manchester City for the trophy and earn a Europa League spot, the players might be more focused on the task next weekend.
Brighton vs Manchester United Tips
Under 2.5 goals at 3.40
Manchester United has scored 24 goals in their 18 Premier League away games this season, averaging just over 1.3 goals per game. Brighton has also struggled to find the back of the net recently, scoring just three goals in their last five games at home. If anyone is searching for action on the final day, it might be better off looking for another game.
