Bruno Fernandes’ form continues to help Manchester United, but they have now failed to win yet another match at home. The Red Devils drew 4-4 in the Man United vs Bournemouth Premier League game at Old Trafford on Monday, December 15.
Manchester United currently have 26 points from 16 matches and are in sixth position in the Premier League table, which does not seem too bad, but could have been a lot better.
What goes without saying, though, is that Manchester United would have been a lot worse off without Bruno Fernandes’ form.
The Portugal international scored with a brilliant free-kick against Bournemouth to continue his good run. His goal equalised the game at 3-3, but both sides scored once each thereafter to fashion a thrilling end to the match.
Bruno Fernandes’ Form
Fernandes has scored five goals and registered seven assists so far for his team this season. This makes him one of the most productive players in the Premier League.
The 31-year-old now has scored 103 goals in 307 matches for the Red Devils and is on the verge of completing six years with the club.
Fernandes has not had the luxury of playing alongside great players like other past greats of the club like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs had. Still, Fernandes’ numbers hold their own against those of the aforementioned legendary midfielders of the club.
The Man United captain has not had much success in terms of winning silverware since coming to Old Trafford. Still, an FA Cup and an EFL Cup title are not a bad return for him, all things considered.
Fernandes continues to be one of the most potent creative midfielders in the Premier League. His ability to find his teammates with perfectly placed crosses into the opposition penalty box. He can also play delightful through balls and remains one of the best exponents of free-kicks.

Manchester United Will Suffer if Fernandes Leaves Next Year
There are already offers from the clubs of Middle East for the Portuguese maestro. However, Fernandes should still have at least a couple of years left in top-flight football. Hence, if he leaves the club next year, it should be a reversal for them, at least as far as the performance on the pitch is concerned.
His contract with United expires in 2027, which means that if he sees it through, United might have to let him go for free. It would not be financially viable for the club to allow one of their biggest stars leave for free.
Bruno Fernandes’ form limits United’s ability to even consider a potential exit for him, either. He is the team’s talisman without a doubt and remains their best-performing player even after registering 300plus appearances for the club.
Now, it remains to be seen if the Portuguese can help his side remain within the top six in the Premier League table at the end of the season. Missing out on European football is not going to help Ruben Amorim’s cause, as far as staying on as the manager is concerned. Amorim will hope that his compatriot continues to help him.
