England’s Elliott Anderson: Top Player to Watch at the 2026 World Cup

Following England’s 5-0 away victory over Latvia, the Three Lions ensured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

One of the breakout stars of their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign was Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson, who recently made his debut and has impressed ever since. But who has he played against, and why has he been praised for his performances?

Elliott Anderson, born in Whitley Bay in the North of England, has spent most of his career with Newcastle, alongside loan spells with the likes of Bristol Rovers. In the 2023/24 season, the Englishman appeared more frequently for the Newcastle first team, earning him a move to Nottingham Forest, where he has earned plaudits as one of the Premier League’s best young midfielders.
