The competition among Premier League strikers has been intense this term. On the flip side, several strikers have impressed over the course of the 2025/26 season.

While the campaign is gradually coming to an end, a total of 751 goals have been scored by Premier League clubs this term.

At the top half of the table, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa are the occupants of the top four spots. Meanwhile, West Ham United, Burnley, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the relegation zone.

In terms of goals, several Premier League strikers were expected to compete for the Golden Boot at the start of the season.

However, the 2025/26 season has seen several underdog strikers outperform the odds’ favourites.

Hugo Ekitike has been decent in attack despite Liverpool’s drop in form in the league this season.

Ekitike has scored 11 goals and delivered four assists in 28 Premier League appearances this term, an attacking performance that has helped the Reds in fighting for a place in the Premier League top four and cement a place in the UEFA Champions League next season in the absence of Alexander Isak this season.

Meanwhile, given that the 2025/26 season is Ekitike’s first in the Premier League, he has performed well in an average Liverpool side. He deserves to be among the best-performing Premier League strikers.

Top Performing Premier League Strikers: Joao Pedro Scoring In An Inconsistent Chelsea Side

One player whose individual performance has outclassed that of his club this season is Chelsea’s Joao Pedro.

Despite the Blues’ inconsistency in the league, Joao Pedro has been a standout attacker. Known for his ability to score and create, the Brazilian has arguably delivered in front of goal.

Chelsea have scored 53 goals in the Premier League this season, 14 of which were netted by the Brazilian, as he has also delivered five assists.

Considering that the Blues’ poor run hasn’t significantly affected his ability to deliver goals, Joao Pedro deserves to be commended.

While he’s arguably out of the Golden Boot race with seven games left to play, the Brazilian is presently the fourth-highest top-scorer in the Premier League this season.

Top Performing Premier League Strikers: Erling Haaland Banging The Goals In With Ease

Erling Haaland has arguably lived up to the expectations amid the competition among Premier League strikers in the 2025/26 term.

In 29 league games, the Norwegian has scored 22 goals and registered one assist.

Haaland is also the top scorer in the chart, and he’s predicted to end the season as the league’s highest goalscorer once again. Manchester City has scored 60 league goals this term, with the Norwegian contributing to over a third of them.

The Premier League’s leading goalscorer deserves to be in the discussions for the best-performing Premier League strikers this season, irrespective of Manchester City’s performances across several competitions.

Top Performing Premier League Strikers: Igor Thiago Turning Doubters Into Believers

At the start of the season, many wouldn’t have predicted that Igor Thiago would be one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

However, the Brentford target man has been able to prove his doubters wrong by delivering goals in the attack this season.

In 31 league games, Thiago has scored 19 goals and registered one assist. Considering that he plays for a team that is arguably lower than that of several players in the above list, his performances should be commended.

Unlike the other three in this list, he does not have the quality of players around him who could create chances for him to score. However, he has arguably proved his worth, and he remains in touching distance of Haaland in the Golden Boot race.
