The Saudi Pro League has been going from strength to strength this summer window. Players which have gone to Saudi Arabia include Kalidou Koulibaly, Aymeric Laporte, Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante to name a few. Recently Mohamed Salah has been linked to a move to Saudi Pro club Al Ittihad. According to Sky Sports PL Al Ittihad are prepared to go all out to try and prize the Egyptian from the Reds. This is a nightmare for Jurgen Klopp in so many ways which this article will break down.
4 Reasons Liverpool Can’t Lose Mohamed Salah
It is too late to find a replacement
If Liverpool’s talisman ends up going to Saudi Arabia they will not have enough time to find a adequate replacement for him. The Merseyside club will struggle to find a player who will replicate Salah’s numbers as clubs around Europe will be reluctant to let their star player go so late in the window. If a club end up selling one of their best players to Liverpool they will overprice them as they know Jurgen Klopp’s side will be desperate. This is not ideal as if they had bought the Salah replacement first they would not have this issue.

The Egyptian is Liverpool’s most potent attacker. The numbers he has put up during his time at the English giants has been impressive. After securing a new contract, he scored 19 goals in 38 Premier League games last season. His playing style also draws comparison’ to Lionel Messi since the Egypt international’s quick feet, burst of pace and quickness are all reminiscent of the Argentinian icon during his prime. This is one of the reasons why the Reds are rejecting all the offers that Al Ittihad have put on the table to sign Mo Salah.
Firmino and Mane left holes
Last summer Liverpool had sold Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich and in this current summer window they have sold Roberto Firmino to Al Ahil. This is a huge rationale as to why they should do all they can to keep Mo Salah as these two players have been a fundamental part of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether replacements such as Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo will replicate what Firmino and Mane did for Liverpool. Because of this they must keep Salah to ease the pressure on Jota and Gakpo who will be striving to do what Mane and Firmino did for the Reds.
Liverpool need to strengthen right back
In this summer window, Liverpool have sold midfielders Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Fabinho while bringing in Alexis Mac Allistar, Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai as replacements in midfield. However, they have not solved the right back conundrum as Trent Alexander Arnold does not have a replacement at right back . This is far from ideal as the Reds will competing in Europe this season meaning Alexander-Arnold could play over 60 games this season. If they end up selling Salah it will make it more difficult for them to sign a back up for Trent as a replacement for the Egyptian will become priority.
