Liverpool dismantled a fiery Burnley side and made it two in two as they played their first game of the season at Anfield thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool Dismantle Burnley

Diogo Jota Makes it 2 in 2 As Liverpool Win

Liverpool comfortably won with the second clean sheet in two games of the season. They had 27 shots and possession of 66% in the whole game.  Most of the shots were from inside the box. Mohamed Salah was also on the score sheet in the first half but the goal was disallowed as he was offside. Both the assists of the goal were from the fulls backs, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas.

The defence is back at a great level as their main man, Virgil van Dijk is back from injury. He missed most of the last season due to a knee injury. Now he is back with Joel Matip. Jurgen Klopp is trying the rotation of players in the front. Roberto Firmino is yet to start a game this season. The ideal forwards, for now, are Salah, Jota and Mane.

Liverpool had around 400+ passes in the whole match. The passing accuracy was 82%. Liverpool had nine shots on target and 10 shots off the target. They were pressing from the flanks as well as getting the ball in the centre also. It was a good win for the reds.

Burnley Not Up to the Races Just Yet

Burnley is yet to win a game this season. They were definitely not up to the mark in this game. Burney had only nine shots in the whole game. In the 9 shots, only three were on target and the rest all didn’t really matter in the game. Burnley had great chances inside the box but they failed to convert it to a goal. They had an overall possession of just 34% which clearly defines the result which came at the end of 90 mins.

Burnley just had 174 asses in the whole game. The passing accuracy was 66%.  Sean Dyche had a 4-4-2 formation for the game. Burnley was the only team in the Premier League to name the starting lineup with squad number 1-11 since Charlton Athletic match against Southampton in 1998/99 season.

Clearly, the analysis shows that Liverpool dominated the game and they deserved the win. Liverpool next match is against the Champions League winner, Chelsea at Anfield. They need to be prepared for the best.  Meanwhile, Burnley will be facing, Newcastle United. Newcastle is also looking for their first win of the season. Burnley also needs to move on and prepare for the next game.
