Liverpool Form Points Towards a Highly Improbable Quadruple

Liverpool thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 in the second leg of the semifinal of the EFL Cup at Anfield on Thursday, February 6, to win the tie 4-1, reaching the final of the competition.

This leaves the Reds still alive in all four competitions, showing no sign of slowing down or being complacent.

The Premier League is already for Arne Slot’s men to lose and they have also performed better than any other team in UEFA Champions League.

FA Cup and EFL Cup will be less of a priority for them compared to the two competitions mentioned above, but the Reds have it in them to win each of those titles.

Liverpool Form Shows No Sign of Slowing Down

A lot of their rivals have been waiting for Liverpool to falter this season, but it has not happened yet.

They are already six points ahead of second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table with a match in hand.

That seems to be a good enough lead at the moment, with Arsenal having 14 matches left to play, compared to Liverpool’s 15.

With Mohamed Salah, who scored once again in the match against Tottenham to take his season’s tally of goals to 26 in only 34 matches, in imperious form and Virgil van Dijk looking like an impregnable wall, Liverpool should fancy their chances of maintaining their fantastic form till the end of the season.

Moreover, other players like Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo have also performed consistently well for the Reds this season.

Gakpo is having his finest season for them yet, having scored 16 goals in 35 matches.

Gravenberch has probably been the most consistent midfielder in the Premier League this season and Szoboszlai has also chipped in with a few goals and astute passing, as have Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota.

Moreover, Ibrahima Konate has been really good as well, as Van Dijk’s defensive partner.

Even their fringe players like Conor Bradley, Harvey Elliott and Konstantinos Tsimikas have played well whenever given a chance, which goes to show the depth of Liverpool’s squad.

They can always fall back on the services of quality players on their bench in moments of urgency.

Liverpool Will at Least Harbour Ambitions of Winning the Double

The Reds will have the coveted double of winning both the Champions League and the Premier League in their mind.

Aside from Manchester City, no English club has achieved it during the past decade.

Should Slot be able to do it in his very first season as a manager in England, it will be a gargantuan achievement.

As for winning the quadruple is concerned, it is definitely going to be very tough. No English club has managed to do it ever.

Every player in the squad should be ready to perform up to a certain level for the Reds to achieve it.

It might seem very difficult at the moment, but the way Liverpool are playing, it is not beyond their reach.

It remains to be seen whether Slot’s men are able to make the team immortal by achieving the unprecedented.
