Liverpool face a massive task this summer: finding a Mohamed Salah replacement.
The Egyptian revealed he will be leaving the club after his nine-year stay. Although he has one year remaining on his contract, he will be leaving Liverpool as a free agent.
After signing nine years ago, he went on to exceed every possible prediction of his Liverpool career. Cementing himself amongst the greatest to have played at Liverpool, the club will have a struggle on their hands to acquire a Mohamed Salah replacement.
Yan Diomande: The Youngster With a Bright Future
One name keeps popping up to replace Mohamed Salah, Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old’s future could lie at Liverpool.
Yan Diomande is a winger for RB Leipzig, comfortable playing on either wing. His style is exactly what Liverpool are missing. A direct winger with blistering speed and someone who likes to attack the full back.
The youngster has ten goals and six assists in 26 Bundesliga games this season. His goal contributions could tempt Liverpool into this transfer as they look to add more goals to their front line.
Liverpool often face teams that sit deep in a low block in the Premier League. Diomande and his direct style of play could help unlock those low blocks and bring a spark to Liverpool’s attack, something that has been missing for the majority of this campaign.
Anthony Gordon: The Ready-Made Replacement
Anthony Gordon to Liverpool would anger many fans of Everton FC, city rivals of Liverpool. The former Everton winger who is currently playing for Newcastle could be the ready-made Mohamed Salah replacement.
Gordon has a modest record of six goals and two assists this season in the Premier League. However, his Champions League campaign was exceptional before Newcastle’s exit. The winger registered ten goals and two assists in 12 Champions League games. Numbers that Liverpool would love to add to their squad.
Despite a below-standard Premier League season for Anthony Gordon, he is Premier League-proven. 31 goals and 20 assists across his Premier League career show his quality in the attacking areas.
The player is known for his work rate all over the pitch and his directness in attack. Premier League proven with a direct playing style fits what Liverpool need as a Mohamed Salah replacement.
Michael Olise: Ideal Replacement
Michael Olise is already a star at Bayern Munich at just 23 years old. His Bayern Munich career has been outstanding.
The French winger plays a major role in Bayern Munich’s frightening attack and is already Premier League-proven. He was performing regularly at Crystal Palace before his big move to the German outfit.
Olise is an elite winger. Highly technical with fantastic dribbling and incisive passing. His ability to unlock compact defences would be a major trait to add to Liverpool’s attack which have often struggled to break down these defensive structures.
His style of play is similar to Salah in his prime. Direct dribbling and his preference to cut inside to get his shot away mirror the profile of Mohamed Salah. He could fit in seamlessly when the Egyptian leaves this summer.
Directness, creativity, ability to score and assist regularly would be a major boost to Liverpool’s attack. In terms of someone to replace Mohamed Salah, Michael Olise is the standout candidate and one Liverpool should pursue aggressively.

Mohamed Salah Replacement: Liverpool’s Next Move
Liverpool’s summer will be examined intensely. Finding the right option for a Mohamed Salah replacement could dictate Liverpool’s progression as a club.
Salah has been sensational throughout his Liverpool career, and replacing his numbers in front of goal is going to be extremely difficult.
But Liverpool must find the best fit for their current squad. They spent £450m last summer but may have to splash the cash yet again because finding someone to replace Mohamed Salah and his quality isn’t going to be cheap.
Yan Diomande, Anthony Gordon and Michael Olise are all viable options, but Liverpool cannot afford to get this one wrong.
Diomande is young and might not fill the void left by Salah just yet.
Gordon has had a slow campaign, but he has shown in the past he can deliver in the Premier League.
Then, Olise, the man who offers it all. The ready-made Mohamed Salah replacement.
Although he would cost the most, Liverpool might have to bite the bullet and open the cheque book again to secure one of the hottest right-wingers in world football. A player worthy of replacing Mohamed Salah.
