Manchester City’s Form Raises Hopes of Yet Another Title Triumph Under Pep Guardiola

Manchester City’s form continues to impress. In the most recent Crystal Palace vs Man City Premier League game, the Cityzens won 3-0 at Selhurst Park. They are still two points behind Arsenal on the Premier League table, but their recent form is quite good.

Manchester City’s form was bolstered by their emphatic win over a dangerous side like Crystal Palace. Erling Haaland scored a brace and Phil Foden added another to guide them to victory.

Crystal Palace vs Man City

Manchester City’s form is a positive right now, having won four of their last five Premier League matches. They have gradually reduced the gap to Arsenal over the last few weeks. Pep Guardiola’s men thus have the momentum on their side.

However, things were not very positive for the visitors for the first half an hour or so. Crystal Palace played with a low block and managed to breach Manchester City’s defensive line repeatedly with long through balls. On the other hand, the Cityzens failed to get past Palace’s midfield and defensive line. Foden started on the left flank, which reduced his efficiency.

Palace managed to hit the crossbar once before the Cityzens got their act together and began to switch flanks quite often.

Matheus Nunes started going into overlaps often and the Cityzens started playing balls across the pitch to switch flanks. One of Nunes’ inch-perfect crosses found Haaland inside the Crystal Palace inside the box, and the Norwegian striker obliged by heading the ball into the net to put City ahead.

Haaland scored another goal from a penalty in the second half and Foden scored a goal in his fourth consecutive Premier League match to ensure the win for City. Haaland has now scored 23 goals this season, which is quite an achievement given the fact that even half of it is not over yet.

Foden has also reached double digits now and has scored 10 goals in 21 matches so far this season. Rayan Cherki registered yet another assist, his seventh of the season, to keep up the good work from his side as well.

Manchester City’s Form Must Continue to Better

After a dominant win in the Crystal Palace vs Man City Premier League game, the Cityzens will take on Brentford in an EFL Cup match next and will then play against West Ham United and Nottingham Forest in their next two Premier League matches.

Man City simply cannot afford any other slip-up at the moment, as they must keep collecting points to keep the pressure on the Gunners.

The match against Nottingham Forest, who thrashed Tottenham Hotspur recently, is not going to be easy. Even West Ham have been playing much better football since they appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as their manager.

Hence, the next two matches are likely to test City’s resolve as a team. The positive thing for them is that they tend to play better in the second half of the season. Hence, Arsenal will have to maintain their form in order to overcome the challenge from an improved Manchester City side.

Manchester City’s form has increased hopes of their seventh Premier League title triumph in nine seasons. Guardiola, however, will know too well that his side cannot afford to be complacent.
