Timo Werner: Could He be the “Perfect Modern Forward” at Chelsea?

The transfer market will be opening soon, and the race for buying the best players will be greater than ever. This is due to the large flow of money increasing day-by-day in the Premier League and all of Europe. Timo Werner is one of those players who command a high transfer fee.

The most skilled strikers can be found in the Premier League, with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Roberto Firmino, and many others. However, Chelsea has set their eyes on the 24 year German from RB Leipzig.

Timo Werner Agrees Deal with Chelsea. Could He be the Best All-Round Striker in the Premier League?

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Chelsea have already agreed on a deal for Werner and are now in contract talks.

He states, “Timo Werner is ready to sign his contract as [a] new Chelsea player until June 2025 [in the coming days] – [paperwork] time. Liverpool have not sent any official bid to hijack the move.

“Chelsea will pay €55M to RB Leipzig. Timo has already spoken directly with Frank Lampard.”

How Good is Timo Werner?

According to Total Football Analysis, via talkSPORT, the German striker would live up to the hype of being a “perfect modern forward” at his new club. Timo Werner has developed a very good reputation as a swift, skillful, and dangerous forward in Germany. His age and ability prove his worth as a great footballer.

Timo Werner racked up 3.74 shots per game in the Bundesliga, which is even higher than Bayern star Robert Lewandowski. His collective goals scored in the 2019-20 season is impressive, with 31 goals in 40 matches, complemented by 12 assists.

Is Timo a Big Fish in a Small Pond?

RB Leipzig is a highly respected team in the Bundesliga, giving tough competition to giants such as FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. However, Timo Werner is a player with exceptional ability, and it is evident that he has the skill to perform well in the Premier League. Plus, with a bit of hard work, the Champions League as well. Moreover, Timo Werner has shown good development, proving that he can improve himself as a player, which is a priceless ability in a footballer’s case.

So, it is acceptable to think that he is a big fish in a small pond, accompanied by the fact that he could develop even more in the Premier League. Chelsea also got a good deal out of it, buying him for €55 million.

All in all, Timo Werner is an excellent player, and watching him play against tougher opponents will show football fans his best form. Chelsea fans will hope that he gives them stunning goals to remember him by next season.
