Tottenham Hotspur are working at ways to give new manager Thomas Frank all the necessary tools to ensure that he can help the club compete strongly in the 2025/26 season.
The Danish manager replaced the sacked Ange Postecoglou in the summer, and it seems like he is aiming to strengthen Spurs’ attacking depth before the start of the next campaign.
It looks like Frank is hoping to reunite with his former striker Yoane Wissa, with Tottenham now accelerating their pursuit of the 28-year-old forward.
Tottenham Hotspur Plan Yoane Wissa Signing From Brentford
Tottenham signed Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in the summer of 2024 to strengthen their No.9 options, but it looks like they’re aiming to add more options to that role.
It’s now being reported that the Lilywhites are now looking into the possibility of signing Yoane Wissa from their fellow Premier League club after being impressed with his performances in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
They have made Brentford aware of their interest in a move to sign Wissa and reunite him with his former manager in Thomas Frank.
It’s also added that Wissa would personally also be open to the prospect of joining Tottenham in the summer and playing under the Danish manager once again.
The 28-year-old forward’s contract with Brentford actually expires in the summer of 2026, but there is an option for his side to potentially extend it to 2027.
However, it’s claimed that Brentford are reluctant to sanction the sale of Wissa, after already having lost Thomas Frank to Spurs and sold players like Mark Flekken and Christian Norgaard in the summer window too.
Moreover, it’s also been reported that the London club’s move to sign West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus will not impact their chances of signing Wissa in the summer too.
There is reportedly an anticipation that Spurs will approach Brentford very soon to begin negotiations over the possibility of signing Yoane Wissa in the summer.

What Can Yoane Wissa Bring To Tottenham Hotspur?
Wissa had an impressive 2024-25 season in which he scored 19 goals in the Premier League, being one of the most prolific strikers in the division.
He scored more goals than any other Tottenham player in the Premier League last season, which also includes having scored 10 goals more than what Spurs’ forward Dominic Solanke managed in the Premier League last season.
Wissa proved himself as a highly productive striker for Brentford, scoring crucial goals against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Wissa averaged 0.59 non-penalty goals in the Premier League last season and averaged 2.77 shots per 90 minutes as well.
That means that the DR Congo forward actually managed to oust Spurs forwards Dominic Solanke (0.33 non-penalty goals per 90 & 2.28 shots per 90) as well as their top-scorer Brennan Johnson, who averaged 0.48 non-penalty goals per 90 minutes as well as 2.12 shot attempts per 90.
Yoane Wissa is a natural No.9 who excels inside the box, but he can also operate in an attacking midfield role if needed as well.
Thomas Frank is a big fan of the 28-year-old, a player he hailed as “exceptional” in the 2024-25 season and would probably love to add more goalscoring firepower at Tottenham Hotspur.
