Following another game week at the start of the new season, the newly promoted Premier League sides continue to impress to the detriment of others as Wolves go winless in five, and West Ham manager Graham Potter remains under threat.
But does this mean a newly promoted side will stay up, or will the notable sides in trouble rekindle good form?
Wolves Go Winless in Five
The start to the season for Wolves has been a troubling one, with the most recent loss at home against Leeds potentially the most troubling. The Midlands side were dismantled in the first half as goals from the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Leeds a 3-1 victory.
Defensively, fans have indicated that the likes of Emmanuel Agbadou are performing like a shadow of their former selves, and new signings, including Fer Lopez, have failed to hit the ground running so far.
Fans have also been dismayed at the conduct and recruitment policies of the board. The players who have been recruited to replace the likes of Matheus Cunha are relatively unknown. Such a recruitment policy, therefore, would have to be correct. However, this appears not to be the case so far.
However, there does appear to be some positivity for Wolves fans. Both manager Vitor Pereira and striker Jorgen Strand Larsen have put pen to paper and pledged their loyalty to the club.
Will Graham Potter Get Sacked?
Although West Ham sit in a slightly healthier position than Wolves due to an away win against Nottingham Forest, fans remain concerned about their side. A total tally of three points after five games has ensured that manager Graham Potter is under threat.
Perhaps the most concerning stat for West Ham relates to the number of goals that the side has conceded from corners. Having conceded seven goals from corners, they are by far and away the weakest side in that discipline, having conceded from such a situation against Crystal Palace.
It could be inferred that the quality at Graham Potter’s disposal is far greater than the quality at Vitor Pereira’s disposal. However, West Ham have often lacked structural integrity and a solid spine in the side since the departure of David Moyes.
Should the Hammers get relegated, many players will look to leave the side, ensuring that many associated with the club will look to avoid that possibility.

The Newly Promoted Premier League Sides
Although they sit in varied positions throughout the table, the newly promoted Premier League sides this season have performed respectably so far.
Scott Parker’s Burnley have obtained valuable points against Sunderland and Nottingham Forest to sit in 16th place, Leeds have won two matches and drawn one to sit in 12th, with Sunderland sitting in seventh.
The likes of Granit Xhaka, Kyle Walker and Noah Okafor also represent quality additions for each side, arriving from various teams that have competed in European competitions.
All these sides still recruit players who are newly adjusting to the Premier League. However, performances so far may lead fans to believe that they have settled and will continue to perform well.
Conclusion
Although it is very early in the season to make such a prediction about where sides may finish in the Premier League, early indications suggest that a notable side will go down, allowing a new side to stay up.
Both West Ham and Wolves are in troubling predicaments at this current stage in time, and may look to recruit in the January transfer window to try and avoid relegation.
