Arsenal have started this season slowly and with several problems to address, Wenger must dive into this transfer window ready to splash some cash.
3 Players Arsenal should sign this Winter
Nabil Fekir
Arsenal must sign 24-year-old Lyon star, Nabil Fekir. The Frenchmen’s agent said, “If he leaves, it will be for Arsenal.” Fekir has had an amazing season so far, bagging 13 goals and assisting 4 times, in just 16 games. Fekir is a young agile attacking midfielder with clinical finishing and dribbling. He could help Arsenal’s midfield problem, replacing Granit Xhaka who has struggled to find form. Fekir is also known for his crossing abilities, something wingbacks such as Bellerin lack. However, Fekir would cost Wenger a lot, Arsenal have been preparing a £60 million offer for him. Although, it could be worth it as the French Superstar will surely be a one to watch and in today’s inflated market, £60 million could look like a bargain in the years to come.
Jack Butland
Stoke City’s goalkeeper, Jack Butland could also be a future prospect for Arsenal. At only 24 years old, Butland has been rumoured to move to other big clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal need a new keeper soon, as their current one, Petr Cech is aging and is likely to retire soon. Also, recently, Cech has not been in good form adding to Arsenal’s defensive issues. Butland however, had a great season last year, and has carried his momentum forward this year, despite Stoke’s struggles in the league. Butland, could slowly be eased into the Arsenal squad and potentially be their first choice keeper in the near future. The English international has an excellent distribution and has made game changing saves over the couple years. His arrival at the Emirates may save Arsenal’s poor season thus far.
Leon Goretzka
Arsenal should also consider signing 22-year old German maestro Leon Goreztka. Playing as a centre-mid, Goreztka has scored 4 goals, and has put in 3 man of the match performances. He has a lethal right foot and dominates aerial duels, both two very valuable traits to have in the Premier League. Goreztka could fit in the squad possibly replacing fellow German Mesut Ozil, if he moves, or Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, who both seem injury prone. However, many other clubs want the young midfielder, such as Barcelona and Manchester United. If Wenger wants him, he will have to offer Schalke at least £40 million to seal the deal.
