Arsenal are looking for ways to upgrade their forward line in the 2025 summer transfer window after missing out on the Premier League title to Liverpool in the 2024/25 season.
They had been on the lookout for wingers who can add more explosiveness to Mikel Arteta’s frontline, and they have now secured the signing of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke to bolster their attacking options.
Arsenal Complete Deal for Chelsea Winger Noni Madueke Amid Club World Cup
Arsenal accelerated their pursuit of Noni Madueke in the 2025 summer transfer window and have now completed a deal to bring the England international to the Emirates.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners had advanced talks on personal terms with the winger while he remained focused on Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign, with the Blues now in the finals.
However, it was claimed that Noni Madueke was interested in a possible switch to the North London giants and open to leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.
At the time, Fabrizio Romano noted that while Arsenal had made progress on personal terms, there was still no agreement in place between Chelsea and Arsenal over a fee, despite the two clubs already completing a deal earlier in the 2025 summer window, with Kepa Arrizabalaga joining the Gunners.
Enzo Maraesca delved into the future of Noni Madueke after Chelsea’s recent win over Palmeiras. Speaking about his situation at the time, the Italian coach stated:
“Noni has been very important for us during this season. Today, again, he has been important. But my message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us.
“The ones that are not happy, they are free to go. It’s not for Noni, it’s for all the players we have. But again, Noni has been very good during the season and very good tonight.”

How Does Noni Madueke Compare With Arsenal Forwards?
Noni Madueke has proven himself as a pretty efficient squad option for Chelsea since joining them from PSV Eindhoven in 2023.
The 23-year-old winger has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in all competitions in the 2024/25 season.
He’s actually scored more goals than Gabriel Martinelli (10) and Leandro Trossard (10) managed across all competitions last season, proving himself as a pretty clinical goalscorer in key areas.
Noni Madueke has also proven himself as a pretty dangerous figure when carrying the ball into the key attacking areas or when it comes to making crucial passes that help create big scoring chances.
The winger averaged 6.82 progressive passes and 1.99 successful take-ons per 90 minutes in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. He also averaged 3.54 shots per 90, showing his tendency to often take shots to trouble the goalkeeper.
In comparison, Martinelli only averaged 2.12 shots, 4.69 progressive carries and 1.48 successful take-ons per 90 in the league last season. Trossard, on the other hand, averaged 2.49 shots, 3.72 progressive passes and 2.74 progressive carries per 90, only ousting Madueke in the last metric.
This proves how, statistically, Madueke is a much more proactive threat in terms of carrying the ball into danger areas and helping set things up. He can thrive in Arsenal’s counter-attacking style and enable more goals to be scored or created.
The 23-year-old earned praise from Roy Keane after starring in England’s 1-0 win over Andorra in their FIFA World Cup qualifier clash in June, with the Irishman stating:
“His movement was excellent. He stretched in behind and he played as though he had something to prove.”
Noni Madueke seems tailor-made to suit Arsenal’s attacking style, but it remains to be seen whether he will prove himself for the Gunners.
