Manchester United have had a stuttering 2025 summer transfer window ever since completing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers at the start of June.
The Red Devils continue to be strongly linked with Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, but are struggling to find an agreement to seal that deal.
They are in desperate need of a new prolific centre-forward who can take up the No.9 role in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, and it seems that the Manchester side are now aiming to potentially sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as a solution to those problems.
Manchester United Pondering Potential Nicolas Jackson Signing From Chelsea
Manchester United had their share of struggles with scoring goals in the 2024/25 season, managing only 44 goals in 38 games, the fifth-worst for any team in the Premier League.
Amid their attempts to improve their attacking options, it’s now being reported that the Red Devils have an interest in the possible signing of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.
It’s claimed that the Red Devils are monitoring the Senegalese forward’s situation at Stamford Bridge.
Jackson was part of the Chelsea squad that recently won the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign, but he faces stiff competition for places in the Blues’ frontline after the arrival of new strikers Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the summer window.
Jackson’s uncertain situation means multiple clubs, like Aston Villa and AC Milan, are keeping an eye on his situation, and Manchester United could find stiff competition for his possible signing.
Chelsea, on the other hand, reportedly value Jackson at a whopping £100 million, which is why Manchester United have only been rumoured to be interested in him and have not yet started negotiations with the Blues over a deal.
However, they retain an interest in the 24-year-old striker to potentially strengthen their frontline for the 2025/26 season and beyond.

Is Jackson an Upgrade Over United’s Current Strikers?
Nicolas Jackson was Chelsea’s second-highest goalscorer in their 2024/25 Premier League campaign, in which they were able to secure a top-four place.
He scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 30 league games for the London side, averaging a goal contribution every two games. In fact, only Cole Palmer outscored him among Chelsea players in the league last season.
The Senegalese striker also scored three goals in as many UEFA Europa Conference League games to help his side win the title.
Jackson not only outscored both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the Premier League last season, but his 10 goals was more than what Hojlund (four) and Zirkzee (two) scored combined together.
Not only that, but the Senegal forward also manages to tower over the Manchester United forwards in some key metrics.
The 24-year-old averaged 3.08 shot attempts, 2.80 shot-creating actions, and 5.72 touches in the opposition box in the Premier League last season.
In comparison, Hojlund only averaged 1.65 shot attempts, 2.07 shot creating actions and 3.78 touches in the opposition box, while Zirkzee averaged 2 shot attempts, 2.33 shot creating actions and 4.19 touches in the opposition area.
Jackson might be prone to missing chances occasionally, but he’s proven himself as clinical and rapid on counterattacks over the last few years.
The Senegalese forward can be a more ruthless goal-scoring No.9 than Hojlund or Zirkzee if given the right kind of service, and help the Red Devils win more games. It now remains to be seen if United can get the deal over the line and make this transfer happen.
