Liverpool are already certain to miss two of their forwards next season, with Diogo Jota having sadly passed away, and Luis Diaz leaving for Bayern Munich.
Darwin Nunez might also leave the club, with potential suitors like Al-Hilal and AC Milan coming forward for him.
Nunez has scored 40 goals in 143 matches for Liverpool, which is not exactly a great return. Therefore, the English champions will not mind allowing him to leave.
However, the absence of Jota, Diaz and Nunez will mean that the Reds will have to make at least another acquisition despite already roping in Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Alexander Isak: A Necessity for Liverpool Now
Signing Alexander Isak now becomes a necessity for Liverpool, and not a luxury.
Their initial offer of £120 million for the Swedish striker was rejected by Newcastle United. However, as Isak’s relationship with his current club deteriorates and he stops training with the rest of the team, the chances of Liverpool ultimately landing him has brightened.
It is somewhat inevitable that a top player will always be drawn to a top club. This is not to suggest that Newcastle are not a big club.
However, the very fact that they won their first trophy in more than 60 years last season goes on to show that they are not quite at the top of the ladder in the Premier League.
Newcastle have definitely played a key part in allowing Isak to grow as a player. The 25-year-old Swede has scored 62 goals for the Magpies in his three seasons with them.
However, the Swede seems to have outgrown the club with his ascent to being one of the most sought-after players in the league.
Moreover, the Reds are in a position now, which makes it necessary for them to get another forward. Their pursuit of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has also not materialised yet. Therefore, getting Isak should be a priority for them now.

The Allure of Winning the Champions League
Winning the Premier League is definitely an incentive, but Isak will want to excel in Europe’s premier competition should he manage to sign for Liverpool, just as all the top players in the world do.
Isak has already played in five matches for the Magpies in the Champions League, scoring a solitary goal.
Playing for Liverpool will present the Swede with the opportunity to shine brightly on the highest stage. The Reds will be one of the favourites for the Champions League, which is an added attraction for Isak to come to Anfield as well.
Players leaving a club acrimoniously is not a new thing in the transfer market. Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool in a pretty acerbic way a couple of months ago.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Reds are able to do to Newcastle what Real Madrid did to them with regards to Alexander-Arnold.
One thing is guaranteed, though. Isak is now the most in-form strikers in the Premier League, even if one keeps Erling Haaland in mind. Any side that has him will be at an advantage.
