Manchester United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend seriously compromised their chances of European football next season. Currently tied with Chelsea on points, but behind due to goal difference they are out of the top seven. Two extremely difficult home games against Arsenal and Newcastle come before travelling to face Brighton, which seems to be too big of an ask for this team.
It is a professional sport, and Manchester United needs the points for a top seven finish. However, how would the fans feel knowing a win on Sunday would practically give their city rivals, Manchester City, their fourth consecutive Premier League title, a feat they could never achieve themselves even during their most glorious periods?
This Arsenal team has been an improved version of last season’s title contender. They can only focus on themselves, win their final two games, and hope the juggernaut Pep Guardiola created at City drops at least a point in one of their three remaining games.
