Could Eberechi Eze Be the Missing Piece To Fire up Deadly Tottenham Hotspur Frontline?

Tottenham Hotspur made a joyful start to the Thomas Frank era in the Premier League as they picked up a compelling 3-0 win over Burnley in their opening match of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

The Danish gaffer has taken little time to make a significant impact with the Lilywhites, and it seems like he is now closing in on securing a major transfer target in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with the Englishman reportedly showing a real eagerness to join the North London giants.

How Much Will Tottenham Hotspur Have To Pay For Eberechi Eze’s Signing From Crystal Palace?

Tottenham Hotspur received a major blow in their pre-season campaign as their influential midfielder James Maddison suffered a nasty injury and is expected to miss the majority of the ongoing season.

That is why it’s now being reported that the Lilywhites are aiming to accelerate their pursuit of Eberechi Eze in an effort to secure an agreement with Crystal Palace for the transfer.

There is a feeling that negotiations between the two clubs are now progressing positively, and Tottenham are positive about getting a deal over the line soon.

Spurs are aware that the English midfielder currently has a release clause in his contract worth around £68 million (including add-ons), and they are reportedly discussing the possibility of offering a sum slightly higher than that to convince the reigning FA Cup champions to let their prized midfielder leave.

It’s already been reported that Tottenham have struck an agreement with Eze on personal terms, and all the details of his potential contract have been finalised between the two parties.

The 27-year-old is personally keen on a move to Tottenham and wants the deal to be sealed, with Spurs now confident but in need of doing more work to get the deal fully completed before the end of the 2025 summer window.

What Impact Can Eberechi Eze Make At Tottenham?

Eberechi Eze has proven himself as a really exciting player to watch with his impressive performances in the Premier League for Crystal Palace over the last few years.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a prolific 2024-25 season with the Eagles, playing a key role in helping them win the FA Cup title by scoring four goals and providing an assist in five appearances in the competition.

He also managed eight goals and eight assists in the Premier League, being among the most prolific midfielders in the competition as well.

The Englishman has already earned 12 caps with England, having scored one goal for the Three Lions and being a tormenting figure in the attacking midfield role for club and country.

Eze averaged 3.48 shot attempts, 3.37 progressive passes and 4.69 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in the 2024-25 Premier League, being a menacing threat for opponents with his clever movement and accurate delivery in key areas.

In comparison, James Maddison averaged 1.87 shot attempts, 4.60 shot-creating actions and 7.94 progressive passes per 90 last season, while Dejan Kulusevski was able to average 1.89 shot attempts, 4.75 shot-creating actions, and 4.48 progressive passes per 90 minutes last season.

The special thing about Eze is that he’s way more accurate with his final passes and chance-creation ability than most attacking midfielders.

He has that special burst of pace to be able to dribble past players with ease and is impressively calm around the final third to pick out the killer passes or take devastating shots on goal. The Englishman can operate as a winger too, being versatile enough to adapt to different conditions.

With Maddison and Kulusevski both struggling with injury troubles, Eze can be a driving force for Spurs in that No.10 role and help create more chances for Richarlison or Dominic Solanke, as well as free up the wingers to drift into more goal-scoring situations.

The 27-year-old can be a solid fit for Spurs’ free-flowing and counterattack-heavy style, boasting enough creative brilliance and that eye for goal to help unlock Spurs’ ultimate attacking potential under Thomas Frank.
