The pathetic Chelsea form continued as the Blues succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion last night. The Chelsea form is so bad that they have now lost their last five Premier League matches.
With that victory, Brighton overtook Chelsea in the Premier League table, as the Blues are now in seventh position. Chelsea have 48 points in 34 matches, while Brentford have the same number of points in 33 matches, meaning that the Bees will be able to overtake the Blues by avoiding defeat in their next match.
Chelsea Form: The Risk Of Losing Out On European Football Next Season
The Chelsea form means that they might miss out on European football next season. Should Brentford overtake them, they will drop down to eighth place, and with that, they will miss out on European football entirely, as they currently are grasping at a place in the UEFA Conference League.
Chelsea played in the Champions League this season, but surrendered tamely to Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16, as they lost 8-2 on aggregate, which showed the gulf in class between the two sides.
The current Chelsea form questions the justification behind the appointment of Liam Rosenior, who does not have much pedigree as a manager.
The appointment of Chelsea managers are done on the whims and fancies of the club management, which defies logic or common sense most of the time, and the form has hardly improved after Enzo Maresca’s sacking.
The fact that Rosenior was given a six-year contract goes on to show the level of craziness and chaos of the club management at this moment in time.
During his brief tenure at the club so far, Rosenior has not been able to display any tactical acumen that might show him in a good light.
Rosenior comes across as a manager too involved in the theoretical aspects of the game rather than trying to impact it in real time with his decisions on the pitch. He will have to exert his presence in a more emphatic way if he is to be more successful at a big club like Chelsea.

Chelsea Form Is Going To Be Tested In The Upcoming Matches
The Chelsea form will be tested in the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United this weekend. Thereafter, they have the remainder of their Premier League matches, each of which is going to be really tough for them.
They will play against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, with both teams amidst a relegation battle and will be desperate to stay up by earning points against them.
They will also play against Liverpool in between, who will be eager to hold on to their position in the top five. The Blues will have their task cut out, and in such a scenario, they will need a manager who can inspire them with his decisions.
Unless their form improves, it will be really difficult for them to earn a spot in European football next season. Failing to do so will mean Rosenior’s job is in danger, despite his six-year contract. It remains to be seen whether the Blues can show some kind of resurgence in their performance.
