In the bid to find a replacement for Mohammad Salah, Liverpool have been actively reviewing players in this summer’s transfer market.

Many player names have been shortlisted, and Barcola appears to be Liverpool’s priority as of now. In fact, Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool could see the Reds come huge in this transfer season.

The Merseyside club hinges on Barcola’s intention to leave Paris Saint-Germain, as he has refused to pen down a new deal that would see him extend his stay in the French club beyond two years.

This means PSG could lose the forward to a free transfer soon if an agreement is not reached between both clubs.

Bradley Barcola’s Transfer Value

Given that Liverpool had initially signed Isak for a hefty sum, totalling around £125 million, and had nearly registered Wirtz for a similar amount, PSG could take advantage of that and make Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool difficult.

PSG would want around €150 million to €170 million, with €40 million coming in as add-ons for Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool. However, Liverpool see this price as too high.

Only two players in the history of football have been signed for over €150 million (Neymar for €222 million and Mbappe at €180 million). If this deal goes through with all things being equal, Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool could become the third most expensive signing in world football.

However, as earlier stated, Liverpool view PSG’s price tag on Barcola as excessively high.

Liverpool are looking at settling for a reasonable price, and wouldn’t like to break the bank. And although the price is going to be less than what PSG had initially bargained for, Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool will still be close to that sum.

Barcola’s Transfer To Liverpool: Verbal Agreement Has Been Signed

Barcola has held a discussion with Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola over a possible move to Liverpool, as has always been his intention since May. He is fascinated by the project and future plans Iraola has for the club, and is hopeful the two clubs will arrive at an agreement for.

However, the price tag of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool appears to be stalling negotiations, and therefore, there is no agreement reached, as L’Equipe reports.

In any case, Barcola has verbally agreed to join Liverpool, as he deems the club the perfect place to continue his football legacy.

Why Bradley Barcola?

Despite the fact PSG are making it almost impossible for Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool to come to light, the 20-time Premier League champions are still hell-bent on bringing the player into the squad.

Liverpool have an option of discarding the deal and pursuing other readily available players, such as when Yan Diomande was still up for grabs. Possibly, they could remain with their squad.

However, the reason behind the player’s pursuit is that he is incredibly fast on and off the ball. The French forward’s explosiveness is usually required in counter-attacking football, and Liverpool are a team known for it. The 23-year-old forward is also a good dribbler, and Liverpool see their future young prospect.

In terms of stats, Barcola has made 152 appearances for PSG in all competitions. He has netted 39 goals for the French team and provided 37 assists. As of last season, he found the back of the net 13 times and gave 7 assists. That’s 20 G/A while not being a starter in the Ligue 1 team.

Although Liverpool failed to sign the player last season when his value was slated at €85 million, these stats have pushed Liverpool to attempt getting the player’s signature as a replacement for Mohammad Salah for even a higher price.

Even at that, it could prove extremely impossible to find the proper replacement that can scare defenders in the final third in the way that Salah did, whether or not Bradley Barcola’s transfer to Liverpool happens.
