Manchester United are set to complete the Carlos Baleba signing pretty soon. Baleba is set to become the third midfielder to join Manchester United in the current transfer window. The 22-year-old from Cameroon currently plays his club football for Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton thus continues to act as a supply line of footballers to top clubs. They have sold players like Joao Pedro, Jan Paul Van Hecke and Danny Welbeck to top clubs in the recent past, and the Carlos Baleba signing is going to be another example in that regard.

Carlos Baleba Signing: How is it Going to Help Manchester United?

Baleba is a holding midfielder, who has been playing for Brighton for the last three seasons. He has played in 112 matches for them and scored four goals. Prior to that, he spent a couple of seasons at Lille. Baleba has also appeared in 15 international matches for Cameroon so far.

The Carlos Baleba signing is going to help Manchester United by providing them with another choice in the midfield. United have signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos so far in the current transfer window, and Baleba is going to be the third new midfield signing for them.

Manchester United also have the 20-year-old Kobbie Mainoo in their ranks, who already has the experience of having played in more than 100 matches for them. Hence, the Carlos Baleba signing is going to give the Red Devils a backup option as a holding midfielder.

Man United are going to play in the UEFA Champions League this season as well. That means that they will be needing a big squad of players for playing in the European competition. In that regard, the Carlos Baleba signing is going to help them a great deal.

Baleba has a good passing range and can find his teammates with his good distribution from the middle third. He is also a good tackler, which makes him a good option to have in the midfield. However, it appears to be difficult for him to make it to the starting XI ahead of Tielemans, Santos and Mainoo in big matches.

However, Baleba will be a good option for Manchester United against lesser teams. He also seems to be a good long-term option, as Tielemans is almost 30 now and might not be able to play at the top level for many more years.

Michael Carrick Has Had a Decent Transfer Window for Manchester United So Far

It has not been an exceptional transfer window for Manchester United, but Carrick will be reasonably satisfied to know that his club have signed two midfielders and is on the verge of signing another.

The Carlos Baleba signing is going to provide Carrick with enough back-up in the midfield and help United remain competitive in the upcoming season. The Red Devils finished third last season, which means they might be in the title race this season as well.

It remains to be seen how well Carrick manages to handle the pressure of playing in multiple competitions and how much the Carlos Baleba signing helps him in that regard.
