Manchester City vs Brighton is the next match for the Cityzens in the Carabao Cup. The two teams will clash in the fourth round of the tournament, and Man City will have a point to prove after their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
Enzo Maresca might decide to drop a few regular starters in the Manchester City vs Brighton match. Hence, here is a look at three players to watch in the Manchester City vs Brighton match at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, October 28.
Three Players To Watch in the Manchester City vs Brighton EFL Cup Match
#1. Rico Lewis
Rico Lewis has played in 119 matches for the Cityzens so far and scored seven goals in them. He has two Premier League titles to his name, but has largely been a fringe player for Pep Guardiola’s team during the last few seasons.
The England international should start as the right-back in the Manchester City vs Brighton match on Wednesday. However, he tends to move inside frequently, and hence, is not always able to provide width to his team.
Lewis will have to curb his instincts to move to the infield often and will have to be ready to play crosses into the opposition penalty box. He will need to come up with a good performance to make a claim for a spot in the playing XI.
#2. Ayyoub Bouaddi
19-year-old Moroccan Ayyoub Bouaddi has already impressed with his touch and composure on the ball. His assuring presence on the pitch means that Manchester City have a man who can be trusted with the ball at his feet.
However, Bouaddi has a solitary assist to show for in the seven matches he has played so far for the Cityzens. His numbers need to improve if he is to be a regular starter for the Sky Blues. It remains to be seen whether he is able to stand out with his performance in the Manchester City vs Brighton match.

#3. Allan
Brazilian winger Allan is expected to start on the right flank for Man City on Wednesday. He has played in three matches for the club this season so far and has a solitary goal to his name.
The Brazilian winger will have to combine well with Rico Lewis through the right side and will have to make sure that their combination does not become the weak link.
Allan’s Brazilian flair should work really well in association with Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku. The Manchester City vs Brighton match will be a great chance for the Brazilian to impress.
Extra Time Notes
Manchester City must put the defeat to Aston Villa behind them and look forward to defending their EFL Cup title. It is equally true that they need to give players like Rayan Cherki, Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez some much-needed rest.
Hence, it will be up to the three players mentioned above and their teammates to prove that Man City have enough depth in their squad. The Manchester City vs Brighton match should prove to be a big test for each of them.
