English winger Jadon Sancho has expressed disappointment, over fine imposed on him by German side Borussia Dortmund.
According to reports, Sancho broke COVID-19 protocols by having his hair cut without proper infection protective equipment. During the sessions, both he and his hairdresser were caught without the use of a face mask.
Sancho however, has characterized the punishment as an ‘absolute joke’.

Sancho was not the only Dortmund player to be fined. Photos arising suggest that both himself and team-mate Manuel Akanji were caught in a similar act.
Recent reports also state that aside Jadon Sancho and Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro, Thorgan Hazard and Axel Witsel also had their hairs trimmed.

The DFL on early hours of Friday afternoon stated: ‘The DFL has fined Manuel Akanji and Jadon Sancho’
Reasons for the DFL’s reaction
The actions of Jadon Sancho and Manuel Akanji was a complete transgression of the comprehensive personal hygiene rule.
There are obviously laid down rules, by infection protection agencies on home appointments. By the actions of Jadon Sancho and Manuel Akanji, they paid a totally deaf ear to these rules.
It is no doubt that professional players also need to have a haircut. However, based on the current COVID-19 circumstance, these hairdressing procedures have to be done in accordance with infection protection rules.

Through his twitter handle, Sancho disclosed his thoughts on the fine imposed on him by the DFL. In his tweet, Sancho referred to the DFL’s actions as an ‘Absolute Joke’.

A few weeks ago, the German football federation (DFB) opted not to sanction him for revealing his T-Shirt, with the inscription ‘Justice for George Floyd’.
