Having not been at the top of the table, the Celtic Scottish Premiership Champions has been confirmed after a dramatic final day victory over fellow title-chasers, Hearts.
After leading the way for much of the season, the Jam Tarts have collapsed at the wrong time. In late October, Hearts were even eight points clear of Celtic at the top, but the Scottish Premiership mentality monsters came back to pick up their record 56th title.
By the time the table was split into the promotion and relegation groups, Celtic had even dropped down to third place, behind rivals Rangers and three points away from the summit.
However, in a dramatic turnaround under interim manager Martin O’Neill, the Hoops have clinched their fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title.
You have to feel bad for Hearts, as their wait for a Scottish top-flight title goes on, and their costly 1-1 draw against Motherwell, only over a week ago, has cost them massively in the title race.
Celtic Scottish Premiership Champions: The Mentality Monsters Do It Again
In October 2025, Brendan Rodgers departed the club for the second time, after spending over two years with the Hoops in his second spell and winning two domestic doubles with the club.
His departure came at an uncertain time for Celtic, as the club had just lost back-to-back matches and had been defeated by Hearts, which opened up an eight-point gap at the top.
Martin O’Neill was named as interim manager in his place whilst the club searched for a new permanent manager, with the Northern Irishman leading Celtic to seven wins from his eight matches in charge.
Former Columbus Crew and CF Montreal manager, Wilfried Nancy, took charge and was handed a two-and-a-half-year contract, a contract that lasted only a month.
After two wins and six defeats, the Frenchman was sacked, and the Celtic board once again turned to O’Neill for a helping hand ahead of the Scottish Premiership run-in.
The Northern Irishman only saw his team lose three times in the subsequent 26 games he has taken charge of, and win number 19 in his second spell was the biggest.
The 3-1 win over Hearts on the final day defined the Hoops’ season, as the Celtic Scottish Premiership Champions was confirmed, beating Hearts to the title by two points.
The true desire, grit and determination that the Celtic players showed on the final day was outstanding. After going 1-0 down, they didn’t give up, equalised just before half-time, and then scored twice more in the second half to cement the title would be theirs.
A record 56th Celtic Scottish Premiership Champions has the Hoops now in a league of their own in Scotland as the most dominant side in the country.

Celtic Scottish Premiership Champions: Heartbreaking Final Day For Hearts
From a Hearts perspective, what unfolded on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season was heartbreaking as all of their hard work was undone.
Leading the Scottish Premiership table from the very first matchday, the Jam Tarts only lost the top spot for a few matchdays before returning to the summit and pulling a gap on the chasing pack.
However, dropping points in five of their last 11 games ahead of the Championship Group run-in saw their lead disappear, and they needed to stay perfect if they were to pick up the title.
In the end, they couldn’t manage that as a draw to Motherwell and a defeat to Celtic on the final day saw them miss out on the Scottish Premiership title by two points.
Their wait for a top-flight title goes on, an over 60-year wait could have ended if they were able to cling onto a point against Celtic, but Scotland’s menatlity monsters had the final say.
A perfect home record, Lawrence Shankland smashing in the goals again, and the league’s best defensive record, Hearts are truly the people’s champions, but the Scottish Premiership title slipping away from them at the last hurdle will hurt for some time.
