#2 Phil Foden vs. Morgan Rogers
Foden has played in 47 matches for England and is one of the senior players in their current set-up. After a disastrous 2024/25 season by his high standards, Foden has improved his performance for his club this season.
After getting dropped from the Three Lions squad, he has also made a come back to it recently by virtue of his improved performance for Manchester City. On the other hand, Rogers made his debut for England last year and has earned 12 caps for them so far.
Foden is by far the more experienced and more decorated player of the two in club football, but has not impressed for his national team much, scoring only four goals in his international career so far. On his day, he is also probably the most skillful player in England with a lethal left foot. Rogers, on the other hand, has been steadily improving for Aston Villa and has played as a No. 10 for England recently.
Foden and Rogers will be competing for the central attacking midfielder’s role _ whether it is a No. 10 or a No. 8, with Bellingham and Cole Palmer also on the fray. It will be interesting to see whom Tuchel decides to take to the United States ultimately.
