Peterborough United eyeing promotion

The league one side form on paper has not been impressive as many think with only three wins in seven games. But one major victory came in the last round of the FA Cup as they cruised past Championship side Aston Villa. The Posh came from one nil down to score three goals in the last 15 minutes to send them through to next round. Peterborough are currently sit 6th, only four points off promotion places, as their hope to be in the Championship next season.

Magical Mahrez

Former Premier League champions, Leicester City, have finally found their form after a sorry start to the season. However, the foxes have now climbed 7th in the league after only one loss in six games (three wins from six). One player who has stolen the fame-light is Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian has been in sensational form over the Christmas period and in his last five games. The winger was involved in five goals. Leicester City struggled to get past previous League 1 challengers in the third round. As Fleetwood Town took them to a replay, where City beat them 2-0.

Team News

Leicester City recently signed forward Fousseni Diabate, from Ajaccio. He is expected to make his first Start for the foxes with Iheanacho likely to lead the line again. Jamie Vardy, who made his debut for Leicester against Peterborough in 2012, could feature.

Peterborough United had a little scare on Tuesday after their in-form striker Jack Marriott. Mariott was pulled from the lineup on Tuesday against Lincoln. But is expected to be fit for Saturday. The Posh striker has scored 24 goals in 39 games (all competitions). Midfielders Leo Da Silva Lopes and Gwion Edwards are both injured.

What to expect

This game will feature a very attacking display from both teams. Peterborough United are known for they attacking power in League after being involved in 190 goals since the start of 15/16 season. Being the host of the FA Cup tie, Peterborough undoubtedly have a slight advantage. The threat of Marcus Maddison and Jack Mariott will be key for League One side, with Maddison on 15 assists.

Leicester City find themselves lucky to be in the fourth round. After Fleetwood nearly grabbed shocked the Premier League side before the replay. The Foxes are obviously the favorite for the Cup tie and if Mahrez features, then it could be a long afternoon for Peterborough.

Prediction

If Leicester City put are strong side out at the ABAX then Peterborough will struggle to keep Vary and Mahrez quiet. However, do not underestimate the League One side and expect a high scoreline.
