Fantasy Premier League Hot or Not: Featuring Bernando Silva and Jordan Pickford

Aguero’s hat-trick & Etheridge’s penalty save could have scored you mega points. Now with August coming to an end, that means the first monthly winners will be announced soon. But who are some of the bargains you can find ahead of this game week. Jordan Pickford? Bernando Silva? However, managers still have two more game weeks left to resurrect their teams, so who would you pick ahead of this weekend?

Last Week

James Maddison – 9pts

Dele Alli – 5pts

Seamus Coleman – 2pts

Hot

Bernando Silva – £7.6m

With Kevin De Bruyne now out injured for three months. Bernando Silva will finally be given the opportunity to perform in front of Guardiola. The Portuguese playmaker has already impressed the manager after securing the win over Arsenal with a delightful finish on the opening weekend. Especially facing Wolves Saturday, their defence is still shaky and no doubt be exploited by the Manchester City team.

Joe Gomez – £5.0m

Another standout performer from the past two game weeks. The Englishmen unfortunately suffered an injury back end to the season which meant Gomez missed out on a place to Russia. But now the defender has been given the opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp and is currently keeping Matip out of the team. Along with the only Premier League side not to concede a goal.

Josh Murphy – £5.0m

This might come to surprise to few players. But Josh Murphy has the potential to cause damage to any team let alone Huddersfield who are struggling defensively. The 22-year-old can exploit the Terriers defence with his pace and silky runs. The only risk to choosing him is the chances of him not making the starting eleven but for only £5m he is a risk worth taking, especially this weekend.

Not

Eric Bailly – £5.5m

If you haven’t seen the game against Brighton and still got Bailly in your team then take him out now! The United defender had a shocker last week after giving away a penalty in their 3-2 defeat against Brighton. And it gets worst for Mourinho side as their welcome Tottenham Hotspurs. So Bailly will be coming up against one of the best strikers in the world and will be punished for any silly mistakes.

Jordan Pickford – £5.5m

After his England heroics, normality has finally settled in for Pickford. But if your looking for a keeper this weekend then avoid Everton keeper. With the Toffees still without Yerry Mina (injury) and Phil Jakeglia (Suspension), the department is looking thin. Plus they will be facing high-flying Bournemouth who look dangerous on the attack with Callum Wilson.

Ruben Neves – £5.1m

The fan favourite at Molineux enjoyed life in the Premier League with a stunning free-kick in the opening game. Now the Portuguese is facing the reality of the top division and gets worse for 22-year-old as he faces Manchester City midfield. The kid has potential but will get overrun by City midfield and will be best avoided for this weekend.
