Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Continues To Rise in European Club Football

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is probably the biggest star in football from Eastern Europe at the moment.

He is hot property on the market, having won the treble with Paris Saint-Germain after having signed for them last January.

He joined PSG from Napoli – who have won the Serie A title. Thus, effectively, Kvaratskhelia is the only footballer to win quadruple this season.

The 24-year-old Georgian international has risen to stardom during the past few seasons at Napoli. His stint and exploits with PSG, however, has given him global stardom.

Along with the likes of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Desire Doue, Kvaratskhelia is the other footballer who has enhanced his reputation a great deal.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: A Complete Winger

The Georgian is a complete winger, with the ability to dribble past the opposition fullbacks and to cut inside through the inside-left channel.

He also scored in PSG’s 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final. He thus ended the season with seven goals and five assists in 25 matches for the Parisian club.

Prior to that, he had scored five goals for Napoli as well, in 19 matches this season. The 24-year-old winger has now scored 30 goals in 107 matches for Napoli, thus making him one of the best-performing wingers in Italian football in the recent past.

However, the fluid, superbly entertaining football that he has been an intrinsic part of at Luis Enrique’s PSG, must have honed Kvaratskhelia further as a player

He has exchanged passes with the PSG midfielders – Vitinha, Neves and Fabian Ruiz – at will and has often swapped positions with Ousmane Dembele.

He has scored with shots from the corner of the box after cutting inside from the flank. And, more importantly, perhaps, he has often taken part in the counter-attacks of the Parisians, the best demonstration of which came against Inter that shredded the Italian side to shreds.

Kvaratskhelia was often the player who received the pass inside the opposition half from the defenders of his team, who were playing it forward. Kvaratskhelia’s speed proved to be a very effective weapon in this regard.

It goes without saying that the Georgian has made the left-winger’s position his own for the Parisians.

Aside from Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, there is hardly any other left-winger in the world at the moment, who can match Kvaratskhelia in terms of overall effect and quality.

A Bright Future in Paris

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should be staying at the Parisian club for years, with his contract with PSG expiring in June 2029.

He should be staying until then and should hope to earn more accolades as he grows further as a player.

Kvaratskhelia is the first player from his country to make it this big in European club football.

With more than 200 appearances for European clubs already under his belt, the Georgian remains one of the most interesting and entertaining footballers in the continent at the moment.

One can only wish him to succeed further in the upcoming seasons.
