Liverpool are now virtually assured of their 20th league title in England after Arsenal drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, March 9.
The Reds now lead the Gunners by 15 points in the league table, having played a match more.
With Arsenal having 10 matches to play, it should be virtually impossible for them to cover the deficit against Arne Slot’s men, who have lost in only one match in the Premier League this season.
Slot thus looks set to become the first man to win the Premier League title in his debut season as a manager since Antonio Conte did it for Chelsea in 2017.
What Makes Arne Slot’s Liverpool Stand Out?
The saying goes that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The good thing with this Liverpool team is that one will have to look closely to find out its weakest link.
Maybe Darwin Nunez can be called one, with seven goals in 38 matches so far.
When Southampton took the lead against Liverpool last weekend, it was Nunez, who put the Reds on level terms by scoring the equalizer.
Moreover, Nunez is one of Liverpool’s six forwards and they can afford to use him as a substitute and not a regular starter.
Then there is Andy Robertson, who has been somewhat below-par by his high standards, but even he should get into the playing XI of most of the English clubs other than Liverpool.
The likes of Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai have really improved their performance this season to complement the stalwarts of the team, which has helped the Reds a great deal.
Caoimhin Kelleher has performed commendably in Alisson’s absence to help his team’s cause, too.
If we compare that with the other teams, we find that Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Manuel Akanji have had a forgettable season for Manchester City.
Most of Chelsea’s attacking players bar Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto have been ordinary and Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz have all been below-par for Arsenal.
Liverpool’s strength lies in their ability to defend a lead solidly, whether by bringing on Wataru Endo for stability or relying on young talents like Harvey Elliott to deliver clutch moments, such as a match-winner against PSG in the UEFA Champions League.
The heroics of Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are there without any doubt.
However, it is the performance of Liverpool’s less-fancied players that keep serving the team’s cause repeatedly.

The League Title is There for the Taking for the Reds
The Reds should not have much problem in securing at least 20 points from their remaining nine Premier League fixtures, which will put them beyond Arsenal’s reach.
It will be a title to savor for Liverpool, who have given stiff competition to Pep Guardiola’s redoubtable Manchester City side in the recent past.
However, the crucial thing is that almost all of Slot’s players can feel that they have contributed significantly in their team’s title-winning campaign.
