With that disappointment behind them, Luis Enrique will be keen to see his team maintain their shape and winning streak when they continue their campaign in Ligue 1.
Key players have emerged during this period, notably Ousmane Dembélé, who contributed 35 goals and 16 assists across all competitions, and Vitinha, whose midfield mastery has been pivotal. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who arrived in January, played a good role in the treble. Young talents like Désiré Doué and João Neves have also risen to prominence over the past campaign. PSG played 65 matches in the 2024-25 season, and that could have taken a toll on their players going into the 2025-26 season.
Apart from the Club World Cup final against Chelsea, where they were dominated from start to finish, PSG have been ruthless in the league, and that might be a problem for the home side. Lorient have a lot of work to do. They have not been active in the summer transfer window at the time of writing. They also lost their goalscorer to the Premier League, so they will need another outlet for goals if they want to stay up.
