Colombian left-winger Luis Diaz has left Liverpool for Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old has spent four seasons with the Reds. With Leroy Sane moving to Bayern, the German giants have decided to sign Diaz as his replacement.
Liverpool have made a few important signings already, but will now have to deal with the absence of Diaz and Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident earlier this month. Bayern, however, will be boosted by Diaz’s inclusion.
Luis Diaz will look to win titles with Bayern
Bayern are the perennial favourites to win the Bundesliga title and regularly make it deep into the UEFA Champions League as well. Hence, Diaz will look to win titles with the Bavarians.
Bayern have a great attack comprising the likes of Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Kingsley Coman, and Diaz will only strengthen it further.
Diaz has scored 41 goals in 148 matches for the Reds. He also won the Premier League title with the Reds last season. His speed and ability to barge into the opposition penalty box through the inside-left channel remain an asset for any team he decides to play for.
He has been an important component in Liverpool’s attack, though has often been overshadowed by the presence of Mohamed Salah on the opposite flank. However, his ability to score important goals has made him stand out at times.
Diaz has been able to make it into Liverpool’s starting XI regularly and played 50 matches for them last season. He also scored 17 goals, which were important in securing the league title for the Reds.
As a result, it will come as something of a disappointment for the Reds faithful that he will not be a part of the team from next season onwards.

An Expensive But Worthy Acquisition
Bayern Munich paid £65 million to Liverpool for Diaz, a reasonable price for a winger of his calibre.
Bayern already have wingers like Gnabry, Coman and Olise in their squad, but the addition of a Premier League winner could bolster them significantly.
On the other hand, Liverpool gain some revenue having spent heavily on their acquisitions this summer.
The Reds are also chasing Alexander Isak of Newcastle United at the moment and will hope that the revenue generated by the sale of Diaz will help them somewhat in that regard.
Diaz will become the second Liverpool player in the last few years to sign for Bayern Munich after Sadio Mane. However, Mane’s stint at Bayern was only moderately successful after the splendid time he had at Liverpool.
Diaz will hope that he will be able to do better with the Bavarians. He still has a few years left at the top, as he will turn 29 next January.
However, he has left a lasting impact on Liverpool and will be cherished by the Reds’ supporters for a long time.
It remains to be seen how successful he becomes as a Bayern Munich player.
