Luis Diaz’s form for his new club, Bayern Munich, is wonderful at the moment. The Colombian left-winger, who had a good time at Liverpool during his three-year-long stint prior to coming to Bayern, has replaced Leroy Sane really well for the Bavarians.

Diaz had a mixed night for his side in the PSG vs Bayern Munich UEFA Champions League game at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, November 4, as his brace helped the visitors register a 2-1 win on the night. However, Diaz was later shown a red card, which meant that Bayern had to fight it out for a win.

Luis Diaz’s Form at Bayern Munich

Luis Diaz’s form has been a key contributor to Bayern’s otherworldly run this season. The Bavarians have won 16 consecutive matches so far under Vincent Kompany, maintaining a perfect record with more than two months into the season. Diaz has now scored 10 goals in 16 matches for the Bavarians.

With forwards like Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise beside him, Bayern have really been threatening in the final third. They have often pressed high to force their opposition to make mistakes in and around their penalty box. This was evident in the PSG vs Bayern Munich match, as Bayern’s high press subjected the European champions to conceding possessions in the defensive third.

Bayern undoubtedly have one of the most potent front threes in European football at the moment. Diaz’s speed, as well as his ability to find the net, make him an indispensable part of the German champions.

He can be really active through the inside-left channel, with his dribbling ability making it difficult for the opposition defenders to mark him. Diaz is thus making it merry in his debut season at the Allianz Arena.

Can Diaz Help Bayern Win the Champions League?

Bayern have not won Europe’s premier club competition since 2020. Hence, it will be up to new players like Diaz to step up and help the Bavarians win the trophy for the seventh time.

Diaz missed out on European glory for Liverpool, but won the Premier League title last season. Winning the Bundesliga might not be the problem, nor will it be a benchmark at Bayern Munich.

However, winning the Champions League is a different proposition altogether. The way Bayern beat the current European Champions in their own backyard suggests that they can beat any team on the continent on their day.

Bayern’s front-three is among Europe’s best, and Diaz is a crucial component of it.

The Colombian will be 29 in a couple of months’ time. It is now time for him to make the most of the upcoming few seasons, including the current one. Diaz is bound to get a lot of game time at Bayern, which should see him increase his tally of goals and assists.

At this rate, Luis Diaz’s form suggests that he is bound to score more than 20 goals this season. He never achieved that number in a particular season at Liverpool. He is probably going to experience his best-ever season at Bayern. The Bavarians’ supporters will hope that it also helps the club win multiple titles.
