Manchester United is arguably the biggest team in England in terms of reputation and trophies, but recent seasons have seen a decline in their stature as a “big club.” Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seemed to find the missing puzzle piece to his team with the acquisition of Bruno Fernandes, they are obviously still some signings that need to be made in order for Manchester United to be a worthy competitor for the Premier League next season. Below are four players that Manchester United should consider in their pursuit for the EPL trophy.
Dayot Upamecano
The 21-year-old RB Leipzig defender has been a rock in defense for the German side this season. Putting in some impressive stats so far for his team. The French man has made 17 blocks, 120 total tackles and 176 pass interception according to One-versus-one. Upamecano being valued at €45m, Manchester United can be sure to solve their defensive frailty.
Alex Telles
The 27-year-old left-back is another player Manchester United should consider in order to bolster their squad. The addition of the Brazilian will be a huge upgrade to Luke Shaw who has not been consistent this season. The FC Porto man has shown some real quality with the time he has spent with his team. Averaging 1.4 tackles per game, 1.7 interceptions per game, and 1.3 clearances per game. Telles also scored 13 goals and made 9 assists so far this season. Not bad for a left-back
Patson Daka
The 21-year-old Zambian forward has been on fire for RB Salzburg this season scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists. Daka who won the Austrian league with RB Salzburg can offer depth in the striking option for the team. Currently valued at €20m, Manchester United have the chance to go in for the youngster, as he will give them more attacking options
Dean Henderson
David De Gea has been underwhelming for Manchester United this season in between the sticks. Committing too many mistakes for the team, Dean Henderson seems to be a better option and a firm competitor for the number one spot for Manchester United. The 23-year-old English man has kept 13 clean sheets in 35 games for Sheffield United and has conceded 30 goals so far this season whilst on loan from Manchester United. Manchester United should consider recalling their player so as to have a firm competition for the goalkeeper’s position which will automatically improve the performance of any of the goalkeepers in between the sticks
With all these payers, Manchester United can be sure of being a worthy competitor for the Premier League
