Moise Kean’s Italy Goals: Fiorentina Forward In-Form As Italy Take A Big Step Towards 2026 World Cup Qualification

Moise Kean’s Italy goals continue to be important for Gli Azzurri as the 26-year-old striker scored once more in Italy’s 2-0 win over Northern Ireland in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup Play-Offs in Bergamo on Thursday.

The Italians will play against Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Play-Off final on March 31, as Gli Azzurri look to qualify for the major tournament following their failure to qualify for the 2018 and 2022 editions of the tournament.

However, with the continued flow of Moise Kean’s Italy goals, the Italian national team may have the chance of appearing at their first World Cup since 2014.

Moise Kean’s Italy Goals: Fiorentina Forward Growing In Importance For The National Team

Kean has scored eight goals in his last seven international appearances for Italy. Overall, he has scored 13 goals in 26 caps for Italy so far, and the Fiorentina striker has scored five times in the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign for the four-time World champions.

Kean played for Juventus before moving to Fiorentina, but his performances for the Bianconeri were not impressive at all.

He managed to score only 14 goals in 102 matches for Juve in his three seasons with them, which included 20 matches without scoring in the 2023/24 season.

However, since moving to Fiorentina, the goals have been flowing for the forward, and his form has improved considerably.

He scored 25 goals in 44 appearances for Fiorentina in the 2024/25 season and has found the net nine times this season so far. Thus, he has a decent return of 34 goals in 76 matches for the club so far.

Moise Kean’s Italy Goals: Debut At A Young Age Has Given Him The Much-Needed Experience Now

Kean made his debut for Italy back in 2018 and scored his first goal for the national team a year later.

However, he has not played regularly for the Azzurri since and has been able to collect only 26 caps in eight years. Still, at the moment, there is no better striker in Italy than him.

The recent form of Moise Kean is something that will give Gennaro Gattuso, the Azzurri manager, a lot of hope for the upcoming matches.

An inability to qualify for the third World Cup in succession will be catastrophic for the Euro 2020 champions.

As one of the traditional powerhouses of European and world football, the Italians should at least be able to qualify for every edition of the tournament.

Hence, Moise Kean’s Italy goals are very critical for Gattuso to save his job, which will definitely not be his any longer should Italy fail to qualify.

Along with Nicolo Barella, Sandro Tonali and Gianluigi Donnarumma, Kean is a senior player for his national team.

Italy’s inability to qualify for the next World Cup will be a major setback to Moise Kean’s career, as the Fiorentina forward looks to guide his nation and put them back on the big stage once more.

It is up to Kean and his teammates to ensure that Italy, who finished runners-up in the last World Cup played in the United States in 1994, manage to visit the country once again for the tournament this summer and fight amongst the world’s best teams.
