A first-ever meeting between Olympique de Marseille and Atalanta will take place on Thursday as the sides battle it out for a spot in the UEFA Europa League final.

It has been an up-and-down season for Marseille, who currently sits in seventh spot in Ligue 1. They are in their fourth UEFA Cup/Europa League semifinal, and first one in six years. Remarkably, OM has never been eliminated at this stage of the competition, progressing on all three previous occasions.
Things have been on the up for Marseille of late, going unbeaten in their last four games. This is in stark contrast to a five-game losing run before that. They have also looked very sharp at home in Europe, winning six of their seven continental games at the Stade Vélodrome, drawing the other.
